I disagreed with him a lot...as he too was an inside the beltway that didn't know what was going on outside DC or NY.

Still, he was always respectible and stated his mind.

For those that don't much about his background and what caused his paralysis, FOX did an entire show on him a few years ago...here is one segment on what changed his life.
