– UCF junior Caleb Houston has been nominated for the 2015 Ray Guy Award, which goes out to the nation’s top punter. The Cleveland, Tenn., native also was a candidate for the award during the 2013 campaign.

Houston owns a 44.3 average this year, which stands as the second-highest in UCF single-season history. He has booted 43 punts in 2015 for 1,907 yards including a long of 56 yards. Of his 43 punts, 20 have dropped inside the 20 and only two have resulted in touchbacks.

Meanwhile, 10 of Houston’s punts have gone at least 50 yards.

Not only has Houston performed well on the field, he also has earned spots on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team in 2013 and 2014.

Houston and the Knights will be taking on Cincinnati in Ohio Saturday at noon on ESPNews.

The Ray Guy Award list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists on Nov. 13, with the top three finalists announced Nov. 23. The presentation of the Ray Guy Award will be featured live on ESPN during The Home Depot College Football Awards Dec. 10.
