I just read that a Larry Elder's campaign website encouraged his supports to link to their online form to report fraud following reports they received that voter fraud had been detected in the results of the California recall election which reinstated Gov. Newsom.
The only trouble is that the link went live today on Elder's campaign site, but the election doesn't begin until tomorrow.

The recall was voted down in a landslide. But, to be fair, I haven't heard from Larry Elder's campaign whether or not major voter fraud raised its ugly head to sway the outcome again.

Dumb law. A recall is triggered with 12% wanting it. Should be like 30%. Waste of money for what was a foregone conclusion.
Recalls in general are stupid, but the California rules for a recall are ridiculous.

if we were a true Republic what happens in California would stay in California. However, California is run by people who think money grows on trees and when they discover it doesn't ,they will get the Feds to bail them out. Which means what happens in California the rest will some how help pay for it.
There is a saying ...hurt people hurt people. There is another saying desperate people do desperate things. I think the remaining conservatives felt desperate enough to push for the recall. California is a mismanaged cluster F of a state.
I find interesting that people from Blue States are fleeing in droves to Red States, but it's rare for people to flee from Red States to Blue States. Weird? The recalled failed . True that ,but the fact is people are voting with their feet. There is no denying that in California's case.

Since they have that surplus it's no big deal to blow $276 million on that election? Maybe they could take the surplus and I don't know invest in the power grid or better yet ,give their people that tax revenue back? Government is not a for profit entity. Ideally they should run a budget where revenue and spending equal one another. More specifically don't spend more money than they bring in.

My best man in my wedding friend I have known since we were in 3rd grade together at Altamonte Elementary back in 1975 lives in Sonoma. we talk routinely and he tells me there are issues with the power grid. I have read news stories about it.

They being the 5th largest economy has nothing to do with people wanting to recall their governor. However,if you asked me that question what's California's GDP off of the top of my head I couldn't tell you. Now if you asked me where I thought their economy was overall , I would say somewhere in the top 5 states because they are home to Hollywood, Entertainment,Media and the tech sector. They also have a vibrant agriculture sector between wine and the central valley . Two of those sectors for what's it's worth are the least regulated industries in America . These being the entertainment industry and the headquarters (not manufacturing) of the tech industry. I guess you being so smart and all you could tell me the rank of Mississippi in their GDP off of the top of your head or say North Carolina? What does that prove ?
I did go to the interwebs and found USNews and World Report and a 2021 Rankings of states . California overall ranks around 24 in terns of living. That power grid thing you laugh at me about, well their infrastructure is in the bottom half .
They score well in healthcare ,but they struggle in terms of taxes,housing costs, and their business regulatory environment, which by the way California has double the regulations as any other state. Californians pay the 10th highest amount in taxes. It's the most regulated state in the union. USNWR has this metric called opportunity score. California is dead last in this category. If not but for Hollywood and Silicone Valley that state would be hurting pretty bad financially. More people are leaving California than moving to it. It must be the earthquakes or something.
In the end I don't give crap about the recall because I don't live there. The results don't surprise me because that place is liberal bastion and there just aren't enough conservatives living there. It doesn't validate that Newsome is a good governor or the state is humming along nicely. It just means one ,that Larry Elder guy isn't or wasn't popular and two you had more people who like the status quo.
It’s part of the California constitution, added by proposition 8 which was passed by Republicans in 1911. Who were the progressive party at the time.

Thanks for the update. I saw the state’s first recall was back in 1913 but I didn’t find when the law was passed.
Blame democrats for passing a progressive law, but at the same time credit Republicans for abolishing slavery and expanding voting rights for women. #chudlogic
