I don’t mean will we playing football next year or the year after. Obviously we will. What I mean is will we ever reach our goal that seemed to be within our grasp just a few weeks ago. Yes we have a core of loyal fans, but our recent following and buzz is built on the hope of moving up and now that hope has vanished for the foreseeable future. We have become usf. They were there. Had a few terrible seasons and now are irrelevant and not even discussed as a P5 candidate. And don’t bring up “market”, Tampa is bigger than Orlando. Their fan base is nonexistent and we even jokingly talk about them discontinuing football. Like usf we had a taste of big time college football. Now that dream seems remote.
