Cancer vs covid

The National Cancer Institute estimates 650,000+ will die from cancer in the US this year with 135,000 of those being lung cancer. Not sure if that estimate Takes into account those who forego treatment or diagnosis during the pandemic or those that can’t get diagnosed or treated because they lost their job due to the shutdowns. So, I guess cancer’s still the king of the hill.

Of course, the WHO claims that at least 2.8 million die from obesity every year so maybe the news should be scaring us away from the dinner table with numbers every night.

Depends on your age.

As a young person 100% cancer is worse.

If i was 80 i would rather get cancer and live for years than something that will kill me in 2 weeks

Have you ever watched someone die of cancer. The treatments if you get them are horrid, and the pain most people get along with the cancer is unbearable. To the point you usually spend your last few days to a couple of weeks so drugged you never wake up, and even at that you are in pain 24 hours per day. And often you actually die by getting no water nor food the last few days while you are unconscious. And at 80 it is very unlikely you will live for years, months is much more like it.
I would take Covid, and suffer for 14 to 21 days in a heartbeat. This is coming from some one who is older.

Ok well if youre 80 you can live for 5 years with cancer or 2 weeks with covid. You pick 2 weeks, thats ok i guess but most wpuld probably want the time with their family vs dying alone with covid in 2 weeks.
