Quite the dramatic scene at the UCF Softball Complex this afternoon as the Knights - winners of the regular season championship - clinched the American Athletic Conference Tournament Championship with a 1-0 walk-off victory against Tulsa, thanks to the bat of junior Samantha McCloskey who smashed a home run over the left field wall in the bottom of the seventh inning. Junior pitcher Shelby Turnier was her usual sensational self, limiting the Golden Hurricane offense to just one hit.
The win could very well propel UCF to regional-hosting status. The NCAA Selection Show is Sunday night at 10 p.m. on ESPNU.
