No, those are due to China making it a national policy to steal from us and destroy our industries for the past 30 years. Is that more acceptable?
The Chinese are literal evil scum and for some reason people over here defend these cretins in this despute, I guess either due to TDS or selfishness so overwhelming that a higher price for an iPad outweighs caring about a modern day holocaust

TPP and things of that nature could have potentially changed things, but again, because that is associated with Obama you guys didnt want that, so you settle for this pointless trade war that will do nothing but hurt people in this country.
ANd you keep bringing this to Ipads and Iphones, which shows how short sighted you are, because you apparently think Apple products are the end all be all of trade with China, which is ridiculous. China also buys our products, which you for some reason wont acknowledge, in fact they are the #3 country we export goods to overall, and #4 with regards to agriculture, and that has nothing to do with Iphones.

THe only thing he has going for him with prospects of re-election is the economy. If people start hurting because of his trade policies, then his 2nd term is going to be nonexistent.
It’s already hurting China. Their economy is being driven lower every month due to these tariffs which is why they are now further manipulating their currency to prop up exports. You do realize that yes?
You’re basically making the case that we should tolerate this illegal, rogue, and evil regime because there may be some short term economic pain due to the fact that we pathetically chose to trade with these cretins years ago to our detriment.
How much more IP that would have driven future US jobs if China hadn’t stolen it would you tolerate before punitively going after China? How many more future jobs are you will to sacrifice all in the name of avoiding some short term pain to correct 30 years of generational theft?
Again, it isnt about going after China, it is the way in which we go after China. We could have done this more effectively through TPP and things of that nature. And hurting China to what end? China can wait this out. President Xi isnt going to be removed from power over tariffs, and he doesnt give a shit about his people. If we wait it out and/or escalate it, we most certainly hurt our citizens and economy.
Trump isnt some sort of genius who came up with a carefully crafted and well thought about plan to fix this. He was a bankrupt reality TV star that convinced you he was a genius, but he most certainly isnt one. What he did was impiment the most simplistic and basic plan and didnt remotely consider the reprecussions. Hell, based on a lot of his comments I think it is pretty safe to argue that Trump doesnt even know how tariffs work. That is how much thought he put into this.

Tomi Lahren's new product line she just introduced is made in, guess where? China. It is amazing how all of these people have no problem personally profitting off making their products in China while scolding China and everyone else for trade deficits.

Both our economies would crash. We could certainly recover quicker than China, but it would still likely be years if not decades until we fully recovered. 85 seems to think this is some type of elementary school situation and it only impacts Iphones, but the reality is China and our markets are very much entwined. They are also the 3rd biggest importer of our products, so if you take that away no telling how many thousands of American's would take a major financial hit. Plus, things like oil are traded with dollars, so if you take China from that market you would very likely see a demand from other countries that the dollar be repaced as the international trading currency. Basically, expect a major recession in this country that lasts years, expect interest rates to rise, bankruptcies all over the country, etc etc.
THe fact you think Iphones are the only thing we get from China is just flat out dumb.
And yes, we could build our products in other countries, which is exactly what the TPP was for. But meh, in your view we should trash our own economy to own the libs.
The fact that you think TPP would have fixed any of this tells me you’re insane. At best it would have given the Chinese another 20 years to steal from us and hack our servers to get what they need, and by the time TPP actually mattered, it would be too late.

If China's market crashed, it would most certainly have a major negative impact on our economy. YOu being delusional doesnt change reality. There's no way under your scenario that we would have a lasting recession. We would have stagflation of an epic scale, but not a recession.
