Yes, 2 years prior. So if O'Leary is screwing up early into next year, I think he goes then too.

This is the BS response to Auburn letting Chizik go 2 years after he won the National Championship. He thinks Auburn did the right thing in firing him. Here's Chizik's record btw.

2009 (8-5) - Outback Bowl
2010 (14-0) National Championship
2011 (8-5) Peach Bowl
2012 (3-9) Fired

and GOLs record the last four years.

2012 (10-4) Beef O'Brady
2013 (12-1) Fiesta Bowl
2014 (9-4) St Pete Bowl
2015 (0-7) (huggers want one to five addl years?)

Based on that record, why is BS giving a pass to GOL but justifying Chizik's termination? Even Chizik didnt have a zero for season. Chizik had winning seasons, one losing season and then fired. Huggers want to keep GOL to stay up to five more years so he'll have a chance to coach his prized 2.82 avg star recruting class.

Chizik didnt even have an eight game losing streak. Chizik was able to beat his G5 and FCS opponents. Auburn didnt think it was good enough. We've lost 8 straight and we have a majority of fans that want him around one more year! Others want to see him coach Schneider as a Senior!! Are you kidding me?
Im curious where's the Chizik huggers defending him during his last year at Auburn. Where's AuburnBS, AuburnMike and A_L? They dont exist thats why!

Because BS is a stupid nutthugging motherfukcer that cannot be reasoned with and insist that he has facts and numbers to uphold his stupid nutthuggery but he really doesn't because he's just a delusional nutthugger.

I just farted something that sounded smarter than anything BS has ever posted on this forum. Why is he not on everybody's ignore list is beyond me.

Some quotes for those who don't want to link:

"The Tigers were 7-17 in SEC (conference) games outside of 2010 during his tenure."

"Chizik's tenure was marred by off-the-field problems, too, to the extent that Chizik had employees of a private firm run curfew checks on players this season. Four members of the 2010 national championship team were arrested on robbery charges in March 2011."

"Auburn (was) also the subject of an NCAA investigation that includes the recruitment of Memphis running back Jovon Robinson... and into the recruitment of Newton and allegations from four former players that they were paid thousands of dollars during their college careers."

Hmmmm. I guess it isn't all about win/loss is it?

Chizik's firing had more to do with wiping the slate clean from the Cam Newton fiasco, and showing the NCAA they were a changed program. They used his poor record as an excuse to do so. But go on.

Doesn't change the fact that after 2 years of a NC, he was fired. So your point was made, and is accurate. Just stating that there was much more involved than just his record. Guy almost cost them wins, tons of money, etc.

Auburn paid Chizik 7.5 million to be fired. They can afford it. I wonder if UCF can afford O'leary's buy out (what ever it is).

from the article

Auburn said the total buyout for Chizik and his assistant coaches is $11.09 million. Chizik's buyout will total $7.5 million and be paid in monthly installments of $208,334 for the next 36 months.

In doing so, Auburn is admitting that it is firing Chizik without cause, and that there are no violations that could have allowed the school to fire him without pay. If new violations arise stemming from his time as coach, the school would have to head to court to get the buyout money back from Chizik.

You can speculate all you want, but the bottom line was they werent winning.

I've been a supporter of GOL from the beginning, but there's no excuse for how bad we are this year and want to see UCF move on; but the bottom line is that UCF can't afford a buyout of GOL and staff, he needs to go on his own, which I believe he will at the end of the season.
First things first....need to get a AD hired....that's much more important at this point, firing GOL now doesn't accomplish anything as anyone we'd want to hire is coaching right now...

Is that really true that we dont have any money to buy them out? I would like an example on what it would cost to buyout GOL and his staff versus the money we actually have.

UCFAA had to restructure its stadium/arena construction loans to payback less over the next 5 years because of lack of income from the conference. Do you need any more proof that UCFAA doesn't have ANY money to buy out anybody?

UCF under GOL has been the subject of two NCAA investigations and we were sanctioned for being "repeat offenders." In addition, UCFcoaching staff was found negligent in a players death (no I didn't say they killed him, but there was certainly enough evidence to find them guilty of negligence) and had another player have kidney failure less than 10 months later. He's has a player shot in a fight. He's had a lawsuit from a former defensive coordinator. He's split the fanbase. And arguably he played an injured QB last week.

Those who live in glass houses...

That being said due to his accomplishments I think he should be allowed to coach out the season. Or better yet announce retirement and use it to motivate the players and unite the fan base to reavel in your accomplishments.

That would be the best case scenario right now for UCF. But does GOL care about what is best for UCF?
