Way to put their cause above their country and not do their job! You know how many people died for that flag?! /sarcasm
Too bad they can get any bum on the street to do that job and no one will give two shits. Great community relations move
So the cops are avoiding doing a show of patriotism (flag ceremony) in order to protest someone who avoided doing a show of patriotism (national anthem)?
Makes sense
Um no. They don't want to be holding the flag for a game in which assholes are kneeling in protest of that flag mere feet away, and kneeling in solidarity with an asshole that compared cops to slave catchers. Maybe that could be it. Yea, actually, that's exactly it.
All of this is going to make it somewhat enjoyable the day the NFL eventually collapses under the weight of billions of dollars in lawsuits from braindead players and their family members.
Whatever logic you need to use to justify your position. Makes a whole lot more sense to continue showing your patriotism and drowning out the anti flag protestors.
Holding the huge flag is a team directed activity. It's not at like something basic such as standing for the anthem and saluting the flag, which these cops will still do.
Your lame attempt to slander these cops by accusing them of something they aren't doing is sad

I don't think this is the right move. I'd send every available cop on the field every game all carrying the biggest US flags they can find.
No one is going to know Cleveland PD is not out there. They would know they're out there when they send out every available cop and volunteer off duty carrying American flags or blue line US flags and the Browns would face hellfire if they tried to stop it from happening.

Yes, but most if not all guys out there are off duty.
Well you wanted "every available cop".
dont these games get covered by alot of off duty police officers? the bulk is regular city police during a normal shift, but i think they fill in the rest with off duty guys from around the area to fill in the void. i think it would be great if they just stopped picking up those games in their off time to make extra cash. that would be a good showing.
