"Coaching: George O'Leary and his staff ought to be ashamed of themselves for this astronomically bad result. While I unlike some of my Knights brethren thought this game might be a bit of a struggle considering we're the biggest game on FIU's schedule, I did expect UCF to pull away in the 4th and win by 2 scores . The fact FIU dominated our offensive line at the point of attack and had success on the same short passing plays over and over and over smells more like a coaching and scheme problem than a lack of talent. I also find it perplexing that whenever the passing game had success, the play calling resorted back to running the ball on 2 out of the next 3 plays, resulting in stalling drives. Try it once and fail, okay, but continuing to go back to it when it isn't working and you have a quarterback who has a rhythm going with his receivers is asinine and an all too familiar sight for those of us who have watched O'Leary's Knights over the years. This stupid strategy was played out in the worst way on the Knights final drive. After Holman completed several passes to get the Knights to the FIU 23 yard line, OC Brent Key (or was it O'Leary?) called 3 straight run plays. Mind you the run had zero success and mind you there was still a minute left in the game to try and get closer, maybe even score a TD. Instead, our inexperienced kicker is thrown out there to attempt to rescue his team from the worst loss in school history and no surprise, fails miserably. Again, shameful performance by this coaching staff. If Donald Trump were the AD rather than the head coach of the football program pulling double duty, this is the kind of thing that carries out the "you're fired" scene we've all come to appreciate from the Apprentice. Yes, it may be week 1, but heads need to roll after this one. A home loss versus FIU? UCF fan, you have every right to be pissed off! Final Grade: F"
