Coaching staff speculations?

I think it's kinda delusions of grandeur to assume a player would go on the Rivals board and go "oh, THIS is the speculation that has changed my mind. I am decommitting"
U r probably right. Players know that the posters can go off the rails. Says more about the posters than the coach When u go down this road u kill the enjoyment of the board imo

Ok. Enjoy yourself and hopefully this makes u feel good
Don't feel good about the risk surrounding the hire......but things can change over time. Curious who we can get on staff, then how we can play catch up in the portal since our talent level for next year is seriously low.

I guess it is better to believe rumors, and that's what they are, bad rumors but just rumors, from years ago from a group that especially hate him because he didn't win, instead of listening to his current now previous employer.

As someone who was born in Nebraska, grew up a Huskers fan, go back to Nebraska all the time, you have to understand the football team is equivalent to Hollywood celebrities in Nebraska. And with that you get a sort of National Enquirer style coverage to the football team some times. So, yeah I'm sure there is some truth to the rumors about Frost, but I'm also fairly confident that a lot of the stories and details are exaggerated/not true.

Terrible analogy. UCF is going to pay Frost millions of dollars to coach young men. Its a business not a wedding. Even more important than winning is providing a culture that creates good character. Suppose just for the sake of the argument that you hire someone that is addicted to fententl or coccaine and there was evidence to support this before the hire. Do you think wishful thinking is going to have a positive effect on the team. Frost was given everything he asked for at Nebraska and had five seasons to prove he was up to the task and he failed miserably. I personally question whether his personal life had an effect on his character and his success. It is up to UCF to do due diligence in all aspects of his life when paying someone millions to be a role model for the athletes and the school. Hopefully they did that but only the future will determine if the right choice was made. Clearly Frost is a fan choice but only time will tell if he is the right choice. I, like most fans and alumni hope he is successful.
You sound like a Trumpett, all bluster and irresponsible.

No on Hinshaw, was here 2 years and developed nobody. Beckton yes in an administration role (director of recruitment or similar). Kevin Smith, yes has proven credentials. Milton only in a GA, analyst or assistant to the QB coach.
I am no fan of Hinshaw, but JRP went from barely playing in college as a WR to making an NFL roster as a quarterback. Somebody has to credit.

Milton, meanwhile, is less qualified than Trevon Reed to be a position coach at the P4 level.

If I am hiring a brain surgeon, and my options were....

guy (Hinshaw) has a been an average brain surgeon everywhere he has been

and

guy (Milton) who got worked on by a brain surgeon and has watched some other folks perform brain surgery

I am selecting A 10 out of 10 times.

Some posters only seem to feel good about themselves when they $4it on players and coaches and everyone around them.

It's incredible that people are already $h1tt1ng on Frost talking about rumors etc. It's fine if you don't like the hire. I can understand that after Nebraska.

But the fact is that there are no guarantees with any coach. You can be TCU in the national championship a couple of year's ago or an undefeated FSU and be awful the next year. Winning is not easy...and winning consistently is even harder.

Frost is our new coach. He has my full support, just as Gus did...until proven otherwise. The Negative Nancys on here are ready to run Frost out and the guy hasn't lost a game yet. They act as though they have some inside information on these Frost rumors and can predict the future. It's a 50/50 chance any coach is successful. One thing is for sure, almost all coaches are hired to only be fired. Most don't get to coach for decades at the same school and leave on their terms.

I don’t know whether or not Frost is a "drunk" or not. He could be, but he could not be. But I would think Terry investigated any rumors about Frost's "drinking" and any other rumors. After all.... It's only his job that's on the line.

It's human nature for some people to come out and say everything is going to fail. It gives coverage and protection. You're either right and can brag about being right or you're wrong and can just say, "man, I am so glad to be wrong!" It's pretty understandable for the average person to lower expectations to protect themselves.

We need young energetic coaches the players identify with that also have 30 years of experience and will work for very little money. :p
Graham Harrell fits this description. He was this year's sacrificial OC at Purdue before they fired the whole coaching staff. There might be other good coaches off that staff for Frost to check out because Purdue...

Harrell always seems to be available when we have a coaching vacancy and I always feel like he would be a good head coach using The Pirate's Air Raid at UCF. Frost might be smart to bring him in for his Air Raid expertise and to tell all the Pirate Stories of old. Charge On!!!

Is it concerning that Frost hasn't hired a coordinator yet? Are coaches going to be reluctant to sign up with Scott after what happened at Nebraska? There may be a perception that this is going to crash and burn pretty quickly.

No. It's been 3 days since he was hired. And he wasn't on staff to just bring a team with him. He's gotta make calls.
