Amanda Soto, 33, - wife of Rep. Darren Soto, D-Fla. - grabbed her mother's backpack to prevent her from waking away at a bus loop at Disney Springs, catching the attention of Orange County Sheriff's Deputy Cory Heller, the story said. Heller said the pair appeared to be intoxicated, and he helped them call an Uber to take them home. However, Amanda Soto began yelling profanities at the deputy and the driver, according to the report.

Heller handcuffed Soto and put her in a patrol car, where he said "she began banging [her] head against the window in what appeared to be an attempt to harm herself," the report said.

Heller said in his report that "even while attempting to speak with her (Soto) she continued to utter that her husband is a congressman, therefore, she can do whatever she wants."

I've met that lady a couple of times. She loves to party and also talk about her husband's position. My impression of her is that she definitely thought of herself as entitled.

LOL.

She wasn't the type of person that I enjoy hanging out with so the conversations weren't long drawn out conversations. She was definitely a drinker and offered up a couple places that were fun and that we should all go hang out some time. Then she just wanted to talk about her husband's position and the influence he (she) has, and if we needed any help, all we had to do was ask (it was in reference to something that was actually genuine but it was more the way she approached it than anything).

It's nothing exciting at all. Sorry, man.

Nice. Sounds like about as amazing a person as this story describes. Her husband will probably still be reelected, smh.

The husband is claiming that she suffered from depression and "went off her meds"......under doctor's orders. And then drank her face off.

There's many things wrong with this entire story but does that seem right?

If you're asking me if it seems right, I honestly can't say. I just don't know her well enough. When I met her, she seemed quite the opposite, rather manic... way too much energy.

BPD is a MFer. Add alcohol to the meds or stop the meds and add alcohol can result in some bad times. Hopefully she gets back on track.

In person and with make-up, she really wasn't too bad.
That's usually how these things go. Mugshots always suck, especially if they are sh--faced.

Which is usually problematic when someone gets drunk.

Hence why I've always feared getting drunk myself. I'm near-manic in personality, massive amounts of energy, positive, etc... There's no guarantee getting drunk will just calm me down, it could make things far, far worse.
