Cop follows SOP , kicks man in face breaking his jaw

And that NYC cop had it coming when his brains were blown to bits while sitting in his car.

Those 2 Mississippi cops had it coming when they were blown away for stopping someone on a routine traffic stop.

Things are finally evening out, amirite?

Much like the Catholic Church covering up rampant pedophelia, the police in this country have developed a culture of corruption and cover ups that some morons are more than willing to overlook.

I like how someone criticizes a cop and that is immediately taken as a criticism of all cops. When did the police become above any criticism?

I'm gonna assume you just skipped over the thread title because I'm pretty sure you can read.

Here's where that argument fails to convince people. Police corruption in this country is probably at an all-time low. Racial tension is probably also at an all-time low. We have made major strides in the last century in those regards. It's simply not true to assert that the police have recently developed a negative culture.

However, if we use low standards as a measuring stick for success, we fail as a nation. If problems of systemic tolerance police brutality and racial injustice exist, and they clearly still do, it is our duty to try and address them. Or we can be stupid whiny children.

Wow, so I finally got around to watching the video. So did anything happen to that officer? I would hope hes been fired and charged with something by now.

First grand jury failed to indict last year. ACLU filed a lawsuit, after which the DA convened a second grand jury that indicted on assault. We know very little of the context surrounding the video other than the officers thought the guy was an armed suspect they were looking for. Which doesn't justify the kick there unless the officer saw him reaching for something that looked like a weapon.

What is certain is that the general public is in a very different mindset than they were last year so while this is probably a good indictment, there's a slim chance that the current events skewed the GJ's decision.
