Cost of attendance results: The chase to pay college players

Great link Dave.

Can't believe it's finally here. Some said it couldn't be done. Keep that in mind next time someone brings up a mold new idea or the potential progress in cfb.

So cost of attendance at South Alabama is about the same as to go to Stanford? Ok, that makes sense. Glad nothing smells fishy about this process already.

As I'm working in Alabama, it's interesting to watch the number of people interested in their program versus UAB's.

So the athletes say they "need" this money but then an LSU player says he gonna use for car payments, sneakers and to buy something nice for his mom. Makes TOTAL sense.

Which everyone said would happen. The question is ... how many will do that?

The younger the generation, the less value they place on money, yet spend it like they have far more than they do.

I don't understand where they get these numbers from.

We are going to need an independent body to set the costs of attendance for this to work. Expecting something sensible and fair to come out of relying on each school to self-set a price to pay athletes for COA is ludicrous.

You mean like the NCAA? Any "independent" body can be "controlled."

Which is what the P5 is saying right now ... seeing how the AAC and others are matching them. ;)
