There was a short mention of this in one of the recent articles. I don't see anyone from this team leaving early to go pro. Any thoughts?

Smith could leave after next year. He's pro-ready now. If we had a decent passing game, he'd be up there with the leaders. Height, strength, downfield blocking, hands, routes, speed, and intangibles.

Yes...a little hint/blurb was thrown out there by a teammate.

He will be 27 yrs old next year...maybe he will earn his degree by next summer and/or might want to try the NFL as a free agent.

He was a featured receiver last year (14 receptions in first 2 games) till he was lost for the season with his injury..but in this offense, he is not a key target (some of that could be QB's fault as several times he has been open but the pass wasn't even close to him).

He has zero catches in last 3 games...and just 15 receptions for the year.

No clue what he will do...as I could understand his need to move on...as how many 27 yr olds want to be around 18-19 yr olds every day?

I agree, but it doesn't appear that he has NFL WR speed. Will have to see what his 40 times are

No, but Jordan Akins possibly could just based on his athletic abilities.

I think he would be a great fit as a free agent at New England or other teams that use good hands / athletic receivers for the tight end position. His size is respectable enough to get him in and coming off a full year of playing with a rehabbed knee will help him to prepare physically for the grind.

If you noticed at last game he wasn't introduced as a starter. Unfortunately, Milton hasn't been able to get him the ball, even when he's wide open. Time to test the waters and see if Pro football is in the cards for him.

He would get more PT in Cleveland. Gronk is best in game.
