Cuba- the land that liberals use to reference how awesome government run medicine can be. One problem; the doctors there get paid little to nothing, are forced into trips abroad for no pay, and describe their conscription to the government as basically being slave labor.

And, as one of Obama's last failures while in office, he ended a very worthwhile program whereby the US welcomed Cuban doctors who would defect to get them out of this system. Obama threw Cuba an undeserved bone; in return they attacked our Embassy Staff.

that attack on our embassy staff was really odd. do we even know what happened there yet?

The f*cking Cubans launched acoustic attacks against tons of our staff, and now most of them have long term hearing damage, migraines, and/or their lives are ruined due to this health damage.

Everything I've read says they don't think it was the Cubans. Unless it's changed?

honest question, who else would attack our embassy?

I honestly don't see what the Cubans would gain by attacking our embassy either. There was also a Canadian that was attacked.

To answer your question - no idea. I don't work for the FBI or State Department. That's the whole mystery of this all, isn't it?

If the FBI thought it was the Cubans - why not just say it?

Huh? Read from where? This happened entirely on Cuban state properties where they control and run 100% of the security. The fact that a few Canadians were also hit is irrelevant; frankly it was probably done to throw people off.

Cubans either did this or allowed a 3rd party to do it. Either way they are complicit. This was a heinous attack on our State personnel.

From the NYTimes (please don't give me sh!t, it's a completely non-political article):

"Mr. Tillerson had been considering closing the embassy, which had only recently reopened after decades of frosty relations between the two countries. But one of the reasons Mr. Tillerson will keep it open is a growing belief among American officials that the Cuban government was probably not responsible for the attacks."

Yes I read that too. I think it's just political cover until they have some form of proof to present. Here's the bottom line- Cuba is a totalitarian police state. I find it near impossible to believe that a network of rogue 3rd party actors could get in, with highly sophisticated weapons like these, without the Cuban government knowing.

It was Cuba or a Cuban ally (Russia, DPRK, Iran, Venezuela). The Cuban government absolutely knew it was happening though even if they weren't actually doing it.

If only they had a great Secretary of Health and Human services like we do.
