Danny "Basketball" White

I was happy to hear how Danny calls himself a "basketball" guy in the presser yesterday. Reason being I hope he can finally see through DJ's "lack of X's and O's" to make a change there. I know, we are a Football school in a Football state, but hopefully there will be enough attention spent to see we can't even come up a single half-court philosophy. Thoughts?

Can we at least give this a rest until we get half way past the season? We are down our starting PG and likely be 5-0 right now with him.

I agree, see how he forms the team in non-conference...but this already has the feeling of the last 5 years. It is utterly painful to watch simple in-bounds plays much less a simple theory on how to run offense. We will see I guess...

My biggest issue is turnovers. We had a few lazy passes on that Miami game which immediately lead to a turnover score. You get into these close games it is the difference in a win or loss. Crossing my fingers that having BJ back will reduce that turnover number and lead to more wins especially in the easier stretch. Going to get tougher.

Honestly, this is Jones' first year without Kirk's recruit where we actually look pretty good. All of our good players are underclassmen. This is going to be a strong team, but yes, he can't coach. Thankfully, 90% of basketball is recruiting and he's doing a good job lately.

This is very true....I think the talent on this team is very impressive (possibly the best we have had here ever? I have only been watching since '99). DJ really needs to point these guys in the right direction because I think Danny knows what he is looking at.

What if we gave all the basketball scholarships to football players so we have more depth on defense for Frost's system? They could technically be walk-ons for the football team and get conditioning during the basketball season by running up and down the court.

That's not bad. I prefer you just swap men's basketball for men's track

I've been following ucf since '98. Has to be top to bottom the most athletic team. The only gapping issue is the talent is mostly raw to the college game. Our team talent is nearly all freshman and sophomores. That is the reason I want Donnie to stay to see how we perform next year with the talent gaining more experience. There is a good chance we lose some of the talent if Donnie leaves. I feel pretty confident we are sitting 5-0 if we had our starting PG. These games were really close to not have made a difference.

I think this is the most talented team too. But us and usif are the only AAC teams with losing records right now. The AAC is one of the best bball conferences if not the best- 3 out of the last 6 titles.
