This is a huge get for the cows.
We are doomed.
is that voodoo5 guy going to delete all his sensationalists articles about UCF's NCAA violations now that they hired him?
I doubt you follow USF 247, but Collin actually said he felt it was a bad idea.
Besides, Collin didn't sensationalize. You cheated, and you were punished. I guess it's sensational to point out recruiting violations and not pretend that everything is Sunshine and Unicorns at Pegasus Humper University.

Like this post!If we still had GOL I would be more worried. Right now, I could care less.

I'm still totally excited about the new direction of our program!
Most people don't like the idea of getting egg on their face.
I would rather have guys like Kevin Smith or Godfrey at this point. They would have more ties than Kelly who South Florida high school coaches mustI wonder if being out of things for a while, being tarnished will have any effect on his ability.
Not to mention working for a crap organization.
I like you Ucfmikes, but what's with the "versus"?Frost is a bigger get than a recruiter with a shady history ...

David Kelly is a great man and one hell of a recruiter in south Florida. Good for the Cows. I'm honestly envious. I would have liked to have seen David Kelly come back to us under Scott Frost.
I never said we wouldn't be fine without him. But he's still a big "get" for the Cows.Sorry UCFBS. I'll pass. We will be just fine without him. Let USF have him. Allegations are allegations. We don't need any more risk.

Indeed. Still a big get.Time will tell. It's been 5-6 years for him
In fairness, we could only take so many kids in this class. Only 16 while other schools were taking a full 25. You guys brought in more so of course your overall score is going to be higher. However, if you look at quality of recruit, which is all that really matters, USF had the higher average rating per recruit with 2.81 on Rivals and 84.07 on 247. The second highest average score in the conference, second to only Houston with their awesome class. UCF had 2.65 and 82.48, respectively. So, I'm not sure whether the whole "USF is desperate" or "USF didn't have a good class" narrative is coming from. If we had room to add 20 recruits like you all did, we would have had a higher overall ranking. It's a numbers game guys. Look at quality, not quantity.Like this post!
However, I would still say it's a good pick up for USF. Kelly is a great recruiter in the Miami area. This hire was a direct result of us signing a better class than them with only two months to do so.

Should we give a ton of props to a team like UCLA because they nearly made the top 10? Not really, because they signed a whopping 29 recruits while everyone else around them had to recruit less prospects than they did. UCLA only has an average of 3.31. Based on that average, 12 teams would have jumped them in the overall ranks if they were able to recruit as many prospects. Just because a dump truck is loaded to the brim with nickels doesn't mean that it's worth more than a dump truck that is only half-way filled with quarters.
Our class next year will again have a limited overall ranking because we will have to take less than 20 recruits. So, our overall total will be down but I expect the average to be high yet again. In all of Taggart's recruiting classes since he's been here, USF's average recruit ranking has placed USF in the top 50 in the nation every year except for one.
They've increased our win total every single year since the hire. Plus we shattered a lot of program offensive records and had one of the best offensive years in program history last year.Write all you want. Yes., I know we were 0-12, but all these facts translate into a team that has been very very mediocre at best since Jim Leavitt left.
So what good have these class's done for USF,

Compared to predictions where we figured we would be lucky to get to 6 wins, it's a big win for us fans. We haven't been able to have expectations in 3 years prior because the program was in such a huge ditch. It's nice to be able to start having expectations again.I guess time will tell, but 8-5 and a bowl loss isn't that great of a season.

^^^ What this guy said. The strong belief is that USF SHOULD be contending for something this year. Navy lost Reynolds. Memphis Lynch AND their head coach. Temple lost a lot. Cincy lost all their receivers. That leaves it up to Houston and USF you would think. Both teams are returning a lot of pieces and still have their head coaches. If USF doesn't make it to the AAC championship, it will be a bit of a let down. Yes we lost both of our coordinators so that is a bit disconcerting but we do have a very good amount of talent on the team. I believe we will be able to overcome. I do not doubt that when the preseason rankings come out, Houston and USF will be at the top of the list. We should find out what this team, and coach Taggart, are made of this upcoming season, now another year older and experienced. It takes time to rebuild and have a consistent foundation. It is what GOL faced when he got here and what Taggert faced at USF. He has recruited his needs, has not gone fancy or taken shortcuts. Solid recruiting. this is the year he needs to turn it into something. If he is not in the hunt for the AAC East division this year then there are some problems.
