DB to the portal

Hurts the depth but one of the positions we are really strong in. RB, WR, DB seems to have a ton of guys that can start on a lot of teams.

Hate to see this. He is an excellent young player whose best football is ahead of him. I do not really understand this move unless UCF is over the 85 scholarship limit. I can think of a couple of guys I would rather see cut than Marco Domio. I felt he played himself into a solid reserve corner role. Being a super senior, his FBS football career is done. He'll have to go down to the FCS level. He made some big plays during the spring and had a huge pass breakup in the spring game.

Here's hoping he can and does withdraw his name from the portal.

sucks to see him go, but we're still stacked at db
Definitely sucks b/c as Auburn Legacy said, he was or would have been a big contributor with playing time. If it’s me, I’d stay as I would think I was what I was, reserve contributor with a decent amount of playing time. Also just an injury away from lots of playing time kind of like how Tay Gowan got on the field starting and got drafted after 1 year of playing time.

If he IS a super senior, he very well might has his degree and can go wherever he wants (assuming matching interest). How do you know he didn't want to leave looking at the depth chart.

Sorry to see him go but this also frees up some playing time for Nikai and the Henderson twins. Hope those 3 all get some seasoning on them before BIG XII play begins. We don’t need another year like we did when Brown, Thornton, Hodges were all first year starters with no college experience.

Makes you wonder if Nikai was moving up the depth chart…

Didn’t even think about this, great point! Get those boys some reps, keep them happy.

It was rough breaking in all those DBs but look at them now. Brown may be our highest drafted player next year if he continues what how he played last year, especially the end of last year.

Get use to this with a stacked roster at every position. Maybe TE is a little light at this point?

I definitely wish him well, but I’m not sure he would have been a big contributor. We’re talking about a fourth or fifth DB with only one year of eligibility left. Those kind of guys can play special teams and provide depth, but like someone said above, those reps and snaps are probably better served going to N. Martinez. Domio was on the two-deep last year, but it wasn’t a guarantee that would have been the case this season.

Remember, veteran corner Jarvis Ware (transfer from Missouri), who missed all of last season due to injury, should be back. And hopefully Jaiden Francois stays healthy (and starts to realize his potential) as well.

Great points! I don't remember him being effective when he was on the field. He was playing a lot of nickel at the beginning of the year but found his way onto the bench. Wish him the best. Hope he goes to an awesome academic school so he can focus on a career other than football.
