Dear Fat People

Honest Question and not intending to flame...where were all the "genetically obese" and "thyroid issues" 200 years ago when there was a less than 2% obesity rate? Just asking...because recorded trends and stats in history, and contemporary beliefs expressed in media to counter fat-shaming, seem to conflict...

Excess fat is due to food intake, it does not materialize out of thin air. There is a LOT of self-responsibility involved. I lost about 70 pounds (220 now, was 290 in 2007)...so I can have an opinion.

I don't want to use the phrase "apotheosis of inanity" lightly, but social media has provided narcissistic dullards with a voice and that voice mouthbreathes it's way into humanity's collective attention span. May God have mercy on us all.

200 years ago, the ability to get enough food to be healthy was an issue for the masses.

I don't understand why it's perfectly acceptable to shame people for smoking these days yet its completely off limits to shame people for stuffing their faces with obscene amounts of food and being fat as a result of it. Heart decease is equally as big of a risk to your life as smoking.

Imagine if those Truth ads were directed at fat people slamming down fried food and a 2 liter of coke?

But, but, but, eating a healthy diet and going out for a jog is too expensive.*

That's another argument i don't get.
OK - so you're broke and "have to feed the family of 4 McDonalds"

You can buy healthy meats and vegitables at the grocery store for less per meal than feeding a family of 4 at a fast food joint.

I've never seen vegitables at my Publix, what section are they in? :D I completely agree with you though. Also, have you seen the price of fast food lately? We hit up a McDonald's on our way back from Disney a few weeks ago and I nearly needed a second mortgage. JFC, it really would've been less expensive to grab a pound of chicken, some broccoli and some salad mix...and I still would've had money to spare!
