Thursday was interesting, wasn't it? I think I've covered everything in the latter pages (40s) of that thread, but I heard something I thought was imminent so I teased it, then an unrelated rumor spread like wildfire on Twitter.
Anyway, here's a look at some of the names expected to visit (or not) this weekend.
Visiting:
WR Tyree Patterson (Eustis HS) - The longtime UF commitment suddenly no longer was one on Wednesday. To be honest, I didn't really follow all the details - Patterson himself never publicly acknowledged the decommit, but Rivals and/or 247 removed him based on "sources" and then Patterson acknowledged it privately? Anyway, he was always coming this weekend on an OV and was expected to flip to UCF, so I guess breaking ties with him ahead of the trip is the better thing to do to save face even if UF was dropping him all along. Not sure why they waited this long to do it though.
WR Chauncey Magwood (Kentucky transfer) - Magwood recently visited Arkansas and also has interest from Troy and WKU. He's originally from Albany, Ga.. He's had limited production in two years at UK and would have two years remaining.
OL Amari Kight (Alabama transfer) - Kight was Alabama's backup left tackle this season but saw limited action (83 snaps spread throughout five games). Graded REALLY well though - 88.9 on PFF. He just visited Auburn.
OL Keiondre Jones (Auburn transfer) - Former starting guard who was mostly a backup in 2022 though he did start a couple games. I think he should have two years remaining. Just visited FSU.
DL Andrew Rumph (Palmetto HS) - I think this will be a boom following the weekend... He is likely a future DT at UCF.
DB DeJordan Mask (Texas State transfer) - This one came out of the blue on Thursday when he announced he would be visiting. He played safety this past season and posted a very solid 78.6 season grade according to PFF. Had three interceptions. Should have two years left.
DB Ja'Maric Morris (Hutchinson CC) - He was playing in the JUCO National Championship on Wednesday night. During the broadcast, the announcer stated Morris had a top five of Appalachian State, Washington State, South Florida, Jackson State and UCF. I asked him earlier and he said the only other visit he had was to App State. He's originally from South Carolina. Five interceptions this year.
Not Visiting?
QB Malachi Singleton (North Cobb HS) - It was sort of hush-hush that he was going to visit this weekend, but he told Arkansas media on Thursday that he is no longer visiting and is locked in as a Hog. Will be an early enrollee. I guess it's over, but you never know.
Maybe Visiting?
OL Andrej Karic (Texas transfer) - I think there's a good chance he's visiting, but haven't confirmed. He just wrapped up his third year at Texas, was originally recruited by Herb Hand. He was Texas's backup left tackle this season.
DB Jacorious "J.C." Hart (Loachapoka, Ala.) - Auburn commit who lives just miles from campus. UCF has continued to recruit him and there was talk about getting him down for an OV - not sure if that's happening or not.
Other Guys to Discuss
WR Cayden Lee (Kennesaw Mountain, Ga.) - He had a UCF in-home visit with Gus, Grant Heard and Addison Williams on Wednesday. Ole Miss was expected to see him Thursday night (not Lane Kiffin though). It's always believed to be a UCF-Ole Miss battle. Lee doesn't really do interviews or let on where he's leaning. He visited UCF earlier this season. There's UCF optimism though.
WR Dante Wright (Colorado State transfer) - Visited UCF, but doesn't have a committable offer yet. He's scheduled to visit Temple this weekend.
WR Abdul Janneh (Duquesne transfer) - Visited UCF last weekend, expected to be at Virginia Tech this weekend.
WR Desna Washington (Iowa Central CC) - He visited UCF last weekend. This week he posted about receiving an offer from Colorado (talked to David Kelly actually). He hasn't announced where he's going this weekend, though I'm wondering if it's to Boulder.
OL Marcellus Marshall (Kent State transfer) - The Kent State OT visited UCF earlier this week. I heard he's visiting Minnesota this weekend.
OL Jordan Brown (Charlotte transfer) - The former Herb Hand recruit at Charlotte visited UCF earlier this week. I heard he's visiting Syracuse this weekend. Visited Auburn last weekend.
DT John Walker (Osceola) - Had Gus and the crew with him on Thursday and is expected to remain solid, spurning heavy interest from the Gators.
DT Jason Hammond (St. Thomas Aquinas) - UCF stopped recruiting him, he's no longer visiting. I think he's going to be at Colorado? UCF is all in on John Walker and Andrew Rumph for DT.
DE DeeJay Holmes (Pahokee) - It's been long believed he was a silent who would announce for UCF on ESD. He recently posted about offers from Vanderbilt and Colorado. I'm curious to see if he could be visiting anywhere this weekend. There's talk of Colorado hosting like 50 official visitors (if rumors are to be believed) but I haven't seen a full list anywhere.
DE Isaiah Nixon (St. Pete-Lakewood) - He committed to UCF, then flipped to Florida. UCF hasn't given up.
DB Braeden Marshall (Lake Mary) - The UCF commit is scheduled to visit Auburn this weekend. This one is a concern because of family ties (dad) to Auburn.
DB Brian George (Texas A&M transfer) - He visited UCF last weekend. I never heard back from him on his plans.
DB Fred Davis (Clemson transfer) - He visited UCF last weekend. Pretty sure UCF wants him to commit, not sure of his status, never heard back from him.
DB Kenney Solomon (Tulsa transfer) - Another visit from last weekend... and not sure of his plans.
