I'm excited about Scott Frost. However, his high octane offense makes me concerned about the defense. This is the first time I've been nervous about a DC hire.

Any DC hire speculation?

Is this another list? If so...
Chris Klieman - head coach North Dakota State

Is USF keeping their guy this year? It will probably be a LB coach from a P5 school or the head coach of Cocoa high.

What information do you have that makes you think it would be Cocoa's head coach? I am a Cocoa High alum, btw.
None at all. I just figure he's ready to move up. Probably to a different position, but he knows football pretty well. Maybe lb or rb coach. Sorry you had to live in Cocoa. I did too. I can't wash it off.

Yeah, it's keeps dragging me back. Cocoa isn't all bad, contrary to popular belief. On the subject of football, yes they've built a powerhouse over the last decade, mostly with speed and a lot of running, options, and some decent passing. But defense has been key, yes. I wonder who Frost will bring on as DC, but I hope the offense is spread, but not so quick between plays as to give the defense a breather.

well if we are going to go after local high school talent, I am a Lyman High grad. Don't know jack about their football program, but why not? (lol)...

He was the OC at Oregon, but I suspect that a good defense is also close to his heart.

Frost took a position at Northern Iowa in 2007 as linebackers coach before being elevated as the Panthers’ co-defensive coordinator one year later. His defense finished the 2008 season tied for third in the Football Championship Subdivision in takeaways (40) and ninth in the country in scoring defense (17.7 ppg). With a 12–3 record, they also led the Missouri Valley Football Conference in rushing defense (107.1 avg.) and scoring defense.[2]

Not to mention his 6 yrs in the NFL as a Safety and on Special Teams. Also, his final yr was under Jon Gruden.

I'll copy my wild speculation from the other thread and say Erik Chinander
He was a coach at Northern Iowa with Frost, then came to Oregon as a GA after Frost, spent time in the NFL, and is currently a LB coach at Oregon. The way he follows Frost around makes me think he'll eventually be here in some capacity.
