This is where we are headed ... and I'm kinda speechless with how few of us actually understand what is profoundly wrong with this. We're not anti-vax. We've been vaccinated. We're just wondering why, since early 2020, that people at risk have a right to restrict livelihoods (which special interest just bypasses anyway), and freedom (which the elite, politicians and rich just ignore any way) of others. I really don't get it. Life is not a guarantee of no risk. We are literally favoring destruction of civil liberties by default with no evidence, instead of requiring evidence to limit civil liberties.

Kids with disabilities suing to force other kids to wear masks, vaccinate, give up freedom
Those kids with disabilities should just get vaxxed and wear a mask. It doesn't seem that complicated to me.

it would seem that two of the very first things they would have to establish is that masks work in containing the virus and that the vaccines don’t allow for transmission. How are they going to do that when masks can’t contain the virus and vaccines allow for transmission?

First, you'd think at this point -- a year and a half into the pandemic -- that an 'explanation' wouldn't be necessary. It should be a no-brainer that face masks help fight against airborne viruses. Christ, why do you think surgeons have always worn masks for crying out loud??!?

Second, it was NEVER advertised that the covid-19 vaccines would prevent you from catching the bug. They are about minimizing the severity of its impact (90% chance of staying alive and staying out of the hospital) if you do.

Third, if the anti-vaxxers would stop spreading their BS which is contributing to the vaccine hesitancy and the unvaccinated would do the smart thing for themselves and their loved ones, we'd be out of the woods. But asking people to act responsibly is apparently too much of an "infringement on their freedom."

Surgeons wear masks so that large particulates don’t escape from their mouths and into an opening on the patient. That can cause infection. They don’t wear them to stop viruses from escaping from their mouths or getting in, that wouldn’t work as surgical masks allow around 97 percent of aerosols to enter. If a surgeon was sick he/she would stay home. If they want protection from a virus, they would wear an n95 mask and eye protection.

It was advertised that the vaccines would stop transmission. Not by the pharmaceutical companies, they knew better. It is still spoken of by the president and the media that way.

I’m not anti-vax. I’m anti-everyone needs to be vaxxed. The vaccines are very helpful for certain demographics, they are useless and possibly dangerous for other groups.

I am two years out from having a special needs kid in school. My son wouldn't keep a mask on . He for one doesn't understand it and two has sensory issues and just wouldn't tolerate it. as a parent I wouldn't demand his classmates wear a mask or have their kids vaccinated. Some of his peers are already medically fragile and frankly we don't have 5 or 10 years of data on these vaccines double blind studies that track side effects and risks. No way do I demand a parent of a special needs kid to inject their kid.

I have a lot of neurological concerns here with the vaccine that I can't get answers for. My kid literally has half a brain and is at risk here and they can't provide me with data that the vaccine is safe for people like my son.

With that said, My son got Covid in the Keys and for him it was a. mild fever ,runny nose and such.. he can't tell me if he has a sore throat so I don't know if that's a symptom he had. I am getting him tested next week for the antibodies.

What I don't understand is, aren't kids already required to get a number of vaccinations to attend school? The only difference I see with this one is politics.
