Outgoing Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos told her staff in an online meeting to "become the Resistance" when President-Elect Biden takes over next month.

When this news broke, a DeVos spokesperson said the Secretary was 'misquoted' (despite the fact that Politico, who broke the story, based their story on a videotape they had of the meeting.)

We're to believe good ole' Betsy's message was to keep putting students first and to 'resist' efforts to the contrary. Yeah, when I think of Betsy's tenure, putting 'students first' is the very first thing I think of. 🙄

I never realized that significantly tightening up the Obama Administration's loan forgiveness program for students defrauded by bullshit private colleges (like Trump University) was a student-first policy. And significantly easing up on the oversight of for-profit schools in the way they advertise their schools to struggling young people trying to better themselves was a policy designed 'in their best interests' too.
