We caught up with defensive back Divaad Wilson following Thursday's scrimmage. If I'm not mistaken, the last time we spoke to him was during last preseason. I don't think we heard from him during the season.
He's currently playing nickel after starting at strong safety last year. He thinks he could alternate between the two.
He said going back and forth between safety and nickel is difficult because you're approaching the ball carrier from different depths.
He needs to improve the most on open-field tackling.
Divaad thinks the secondary is the strongest group on the team.
He graduates May 6. He's doing it for his mom and grandma.
Asked how he thinks the offense did today, he said they gave them a run for their money today.
Who has impressed this spring? Divaad says Nikai Martinez and Koby Perry.
Tell us more about Koby Perry: "His film speaks for itself. He's a dog. See ball, hit ball, get ball."
He doesn't want to allow any touchdowns this year.
Divaad thinks they have a great chance to be really good this year.
