He is going to coach until the end of this season. Very likely he isn't coming back though. I only see one more potential win on the schedule.
Donnie Jones has to go after this season at the latest. We have done terrible the last two years. We have talent on our team. So I take it DJ can't coach that well.
Last season is a complete pass with 7 scholarship players and two freshman playing the whole game week in and out. This season I expected much more. I thought going .500 would be a nice come back going into next season.
It is really tough to compete with the top of the aac but getting over .500 shouldn't be difficult with an easy ooc. Definitely disappointed even as a Jones supporter much of the season.
I'm just glad I can DVR the games so I can fast forward thru the 2nd half. UCF is just not playing good basketball right now....
If there is one thing that I know, it's when to fired coaches. Now is the time.
Totally agree. Hitt fired GOL mid-season; I don't understand why we can't do the same with DJ who has had no success.
Wonder what the buy out is? He is losing the interest of the fans, student, and boosters. When that happens its hard to get the respect back.
I agree it is time to start fresh. I was hoping he could bring us home a bit over 500 this year. But the team is going backwards not forwards.
He isn't going anywhere with like 5 games remaining. Not sure why this keeps coming up. That would be extremely rare in basketball and really be a red flag for a new hire. We were 0-12 with a loss to a non d-1 team in football. That was a completely different situation. I don't even know if DJ has another year on his contract so he will likely be gone soon anyway.
DJ actually had some bad luck though. Hard to say how our team might look with Goodwin and Taylor.
