It is looking more and more like they don't.

Look at the ACA as an example.

The Republicans tried over and over and over again to repeal it, but couldn't. Then, when midterm election time rolled around, they lied to their constituents and said they were actually FOR insuring pre-existing conditions (just ignore that they were suing to eliminate it through the courts.)

If there was a genuine, 'good faith effort' to replace the ACA with something better that still includes coverage of pre-existing conditions, the GOP would have shared their plan with us long ago. Instead we get Trump, that when pressed, will to say, "I'm two weeks away from unveiling it!" for nearly a year now.

What good is democracy when you don't even know what you are voting for?

I know he will stack the court. Its just kind of pathetic that he won't say it.
Why should he?

There's no need to say anything prior to the election and before the GOP's rush to confirm Amy Comey Barrett has been finalized.
This is Politics 101. The only ones who'll get freaked about adding SCOTUS judges aren't voting for Biden anyway. Why give your opponent a new rallying cry when you don't need to?

Isn't it interesting how political maneuvering is called "elections have consequences" when you like it and "pathetic" when you don't? :)

No, its always pathetic when a politician refuses to say what they will do if elected. It shows a complete disregard for their constituents ability to vote on the issues. Spin away, but the fact of the matter is that you are voting for a guy thats unwilling to say what he will do if you vote for him.

Was Trump pathetic for refusing to share his tax returns?

We now know he's 500 million dollars in debt and paid little to no income taxes over the past 20 years. Wouldn't this information have been helpful to know prior to the 2016 vote?

If you want to see what a true democracy would look like, get on Twitter or 4chan.

If you want to pretend you’ve followed the history of the US in any way, research “Constitutional Republic”
