By the way, the studio that owns the rights to the Matrix also owns the Terminator.

The two movie sagas are based on the same books written by Sophia Stewart.

Could we see "Judgement Day" finally being explained as the "great war that swallowed the sun" between man and machine in the Matrix?

Yep!

The last Terminator movie was "Genisys" and described Skynet's "ascension" to a digital/physical realm hybrid...and the movie was made after Stewart won the lawsuits.
