I rode those Ducks many times as a kid. I was raised in Springfield, MO which is about an hour north.

Those boats had no business being out there and it’s truly sad that this many people died.

17, not 13. And crazy thing is that 11 members of a family went on it through a ticket mixup...9 of them died, 4 of those were kids under 1... as young as 1. Could have been avoided. Boat company knew that storm was coming that way. They will be liable, especially if other riders or evidence confirms the report that the captain told them to not worry about life jackets.

Awful story. There was a video that showed the boat in the water and half the windows were covered so jackets probably would have helped, but doesn’t help if you can’t get out of the boat and it sinks.
