One of the news agencies posted it on Twitter but now I'm having issues finding it. Hopefully not true.
Restaurant workers change jobs every 6 months anyway. They're going to get $950 per week unemployment for 4 months as they quarantine and then they'll get a job at a different restaurant. Of all the things to worry about, cheesecake factory ain't it.Quit being heartless. Restaurants are laying off almost all their staff since takeout doesn't require many folks. Even with takeout service the restaurant sales are tanking. Unless you're over 60 there is no reason you can't go back to work. The older folks should quarantine.

And I already told your dumbass in the other thread that it takes a very small portion of young people who get sick to crash the healthcare system. We get hospitalized just as much as old people we just don't typically die. Any individual who gets the virus strains our healthcare system.

im really hoping these companies are able to stick around.
Location buddy. CFs are located in some great spots. Somebody will open a restaurant and hire a lot of people or my guess is Tilman Fertitta buys it. He was talking on CNBC last year about saving cash for opportunities like this.
The healthy ones will. The unhealthy ones will be bought out by the healthy ones. We aren't even 2 weeks into this thing and businesses are closing. Tells me that they were already on the edge. This economy was very fragile to any disruption.
Other than the last sentence, this is possibly the most accurate statement ever made on this board. Just like in 2009, the unhealthy businesses and banks should have been allowed to fail so healthier businesses could have taken over. It was never about too big to fail, it was about too influential to fail. We just need to let this whole thing reset because there are thousands of businesses out there that can serve themselves and their customers better that what we've had
Agree, but the restaurants just got shut down. If they were healthy, they would be okay for a few weeks.Problem is you be fairly healthy in the restaurant business but two months of lease, costs, maintenance, lost food costs, little business can do a number.
2 months, yeah. 2 weeks? Not so much. That is the kind of business that already has major liquidity problems or isnt a good business model.Problem is you can be fairly healthy in the restaurant business but two months of lease, costs, maintenance, lost food costs, little business can do a number.
