and is 7 for 19, for 46 yards....somewhat disapointed in his hype.
Ummm ... WTF?! Key point: First Collegiate Game Ever!

Don't you remember Bortles in 2011? Experience builds ability. Bortles would have flashes of brilliance, followed by two picks in a row and a lot of incompletions when he came in relief.

GoL is doing what he should in this game ... give those freshman some experience running it, passing it, nothing fancy, repeat, like it is practice, against a P5 team. That's all he can do at this point ... as well as try to grind it to give the D some very needed rest.

The year is going to have ups'n downs, far more now if we're looking at 2nd and 3rd string QB and RB more and more.

Had flashbacks of Ryan Schneider tearing it up....
Against FCS William'n Mary. Yeah ... got it.

I had high hopes for Schneider, and still do. And yes, it was his first game. But from what I saw tonight, Tyler Harris looks more comfortable out there. Going forward, depending on Holman's status, I would do what the Gators are doing and give each QB a couple of series and see who moves the ball better, makes better decisions. On a side note, I had to laugh when Schneider fell down carrying out his run fake. Nobody around him and he tripped over his own feet. I'm sure his teammates will give him some grief about it when they watch the film.

This is how we worked in Bortles in 2011 as well, although for reasons we only found out about after the season was nearly over. I'm sure GoL, Key, Barrett, et al. are very much looking at doing this.

They just hadn't planned on it for Stanford. And that's what's bothering me the most with most commentary here.

There have been a number of trips out there already, including a couple that cost Stanford a pair of 3rd down conversions (or at least 1 for sure). But yeah, I'm sure it'll be reviewed with the corresponding number of chuckles.
