Unlike K_L, I don't blame the players. This is all coaching.
Despite all your prior trolling ... I'll give you 100% props for this statement.
Boosters need to make sure to threaten to take stop donating if key is ever considered to be hc
That will do nothing. the athletic dept regularly shows it doesn't give a single **** about the people who donate and buy tickets and support the program with money. Why would threatening to pull donations matter, they'd probably look at it as good because that means those people will sit at home and watch on TV. BIGGER RATINGS, SO MUCH EXPOSURE!
Just like Courts don't listen to Legislators, the people have their say, they can change the laws, but the courts weed out the allowable ones from the BS. Why?
Because on-a-whim, 1st and 2nd calendar quarter changes would
destroy the country just as fast as 1st and 2nd game coaching changes would
destroy a program.
I'm glad Hitt doesn't listen! Because every time we start throwing GoL et al. under-the-bus, we fail to see exactly what they are building! UCF in 2011 ... totally.
I agree you don't blame players, this is coaching. The commentators on the Ohio State - Va. Tech game said it best though when Va. Tech's QB went down. "Every coach should be ready for the QB to go down and have plays ready if it happens."
And you really think the coaches didn't have the best guy ready to go?
So ... Mr. Armchair coach,
who would you have as #2? Seriously, I'd
love to know this answer. I already have a hint, and it's so getting torpedoed very fast!
No ... we put in one of the top 10 best pocket passers coming out of high school in the country.
He got some experience. He saw some stuff. He looked like a noob at times, such as with that option.
That's what you have to do!
The staff did what they should have,
give those froshes some time ... in a real game against a P5 champion. People can complain all they want, excuse what they think Stanford is not, even start barking about how we're going to struggle against a FCS team next week.
No, this program is doing what it should. We're not going to have experienced, 3-4 star talent in the rotation every year like a P5 program. We're not going to always be able to draw on a junior of any viable talent or any, multi-game on-field experience. Sometimes it lines up, like Bortles as our 2012 as a starter (remember that year and the disappointments?). Sometimes it doesn't.
Get over it. Stop going off the deep end during the 2nd game. Does it look good this season? Surely not without Holman, let alone our RB situation is not good. But the program moves on, for the future.
