He stepped up and courageously did it because -- he had no choice -- there was absolutely nothing written in the laws that could even have remotely implied he had the right to do otherwise. Nevertheless, he became a target of Trump's insurrectionists. The hilarious thing is that, despite threats on his life, this Trump toadie is trying like hell to get back into the Trumpets' good graces.
