I hate this targeting rule. Need to change it to just missing 1 half. Not 2. EZU just got burned on it.
all of the highlights of the FSU-Miami Rivalry would be called targeting with today's rules. That was a momentum changing interception for ECU.

I'm all for the penalty being on the books but it seems to be called all over the map. What was the defender supposed to do...move out of the way. None of these guys on TV ever talk about that. What could the defender have done? There was no option for him to do anything but make contact with the receiver who had jumped in the air and lowered his head at the same time.
Based on the current rules I would start to teach my receivers that if they go up, to immediately duck your head or lean right or left as fast as possible. That way there is no way for the defender to make contact with you unless they touch your upper body or helmet. It should be flagged every play. In fact, why not just predicate your whole passing game on chucking the ball up high across the middle, since defenders are basically no longer allowed to maker contact with a receiver at that point.
I'd love to see someone break down a bunch of these targeting calls and actually tell us what the defender could have done to not get called for a penalty.
I also loved the penalty where the ECU guy flagged for participating in the play without his helmet. He reacted in less than a second to react to the guy with the ball right in front of him. It wasn't like he ran him down 5 yards down the field and made a tackle...it was a "bang-bang" play.
I wonder what USF attendance will be. The place looks empty. I guess the fans are waiting to get into the Big 12 to show up to a game.
Weather may be nice at the game, but travel to the game was probably a nightmare around the state. Many people that can't use google probably thought the weather would suck, etc.

Yes because North Miami has fans all over tge country that come by the bus load. I do believe they don't know how to use Google though.

LOL, no USF has gotten much more than they deserve.
Flowers and Mack are extremely quick
and talented. Mack will be playing on Sunday's and Flowers is not big, but he's very tough and relentless. Our D-line is going to have to manhandle their O-line and the linebackers are really going to have to hit them hard. I don't think many teams, even FSU has really hit them.
Also, we need to have some solid tackling in space. Flowers loves to try to bounce it outside.

Not positive but has to be some kind of brace. Why didn't the just go to victory formation?
