A friend of mine shared a local news report that listed the area numbers and Facebook flagged it as false information, redirecting people to the WHO website.

They are a private company and can do whatever they want, but flagging a report from the local health dept as false information seems weird.

I personally don't think they should do whatever they want. They can control information more than any government could ever think.

I agree but it’s up to the power of the marketplace to raise up a competitor that doesn’t do such things. Unless, of course, Facebook is lobbying for laws that enact barriers to competition. Then I think the government should look at equalizing the playing field again to enable that competitive business model.
