Looks like a underwhelming hire. Yes he turned around the team in his 2 years as a head coach. Wright State had been to the NCAA tourney 3 times in the last 7 years. Rooney had us there in 2 of 6 years here. It's kinda of meh.

At least he loves the ladies, so there is that.

He won hardware. Hardware matters. All three years his team won the regular season and/or conference tourney. I mean, it's college baseball. Other than having some ex-major league manager come in, nobody is really going to "wow" anybody. We'll see what happens. Nobody cares if you win 70% of your games but don't win games that matter.

He was Head Coach at Wright State for the last 3 years...winning regular season conf title in Year 1....went to NCAA Regionals the last 2 years with 40 plus win seasons.
