This message is for every Chicken Little who has posted on this site about how the sky is falling (to the trolls I blow kisses).
Did you truly think the team would always be successful? Conversely, do you truly think this dip in fortunes is forever? Just as in life, nothing is permanent--there will be peaks and valleys.
Like Samuel Beckett said, "Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better."
Do you remember 0-11? Do you remember winning a BCS bowl by crushing Baylor? Did you learn any lessons? When you car gets a flat and the radiator overheats, do you childishly rant and rave by the side of the road, or do you calmly call AAA and start the process of repairing your car?
Yes, by all mean, be dissatisfied with the circumstances and hold people accountable for their actions. However, beyond that, grit your teeth and work through the season. I know the task before us is enormous, but as my late, great Green Beret uncle used to advise me, "break it up into its components and don't let the mountain scare you."
That is, let's yell and cheer for the kids who have to suit up this weekend. Let's have their backs as they try again and again and again. They may fail, they may fail better, but they'll still be in there fighting and trying. . . . and that's all we can ask of anyone.
