Fan Support...

It's going to take a while to build back an active fan base. Or to ever fill BHS again.

Losing games like this are going to do nothing to bring fans back. The players and the coaches deserve to play in an empty stadium with people booing them after they rolled over in the second half.

There was a decent crowd in the first half of probably just over 30,000 actual attendance that thinned into a USF level crowd by the 4th quarter when the team needed the home field advantage the most. Did people think the game was over at the half? Did they have to go get on the Cubs bandwagon? It was pathetic. Saturday night game, 7:30 kickoff, good exciting game against a good conference team. Might want to stay the whole time. Shame.

Same in my section. Our fanbase leaves at halftime no matter what. I had people in front of us leaving with 3 min left in the game...don't understand it.

You would have thought the game was over at halftime this game and Maryland if you saw the people leaving the gates. Pathetic

My section too. I guess "beat the traffic" on a Saturday night is important? I would understand on a Thursday when you've got to work in the morning or something, not on Saturdays. If you leave a game that tight just before the ending it's tough to call yourself a fan of the game.

Our overall fan base is just bad. More than 100k alums live within an hour of UCF and we can't fill it for Homecoming?! Unbelievable! I sit in 212 and many left at the half as well. As a fan base, we have a looong way to go.

Yes.., that's a big reason why fans are leaving early. Can't have a 7:30 P.M. game ending at 11:00 or later. A lot of people don't want to get home at midnight or later. That's just a fact. I like 7:30 or 8:00 games, but in reality, in this stage of our program 6 or 7 P.M. is a more reasonable start time for famiiiies with young kids

38,000 fans last night wasn't USF weak, but it's not good. Basically it's telling me that fans want a winner (like 4-1or 5-0) playing a P5 program or ranked team. Otherwise, they aren't going

Plus a very late arriving crowd that's outside the stadium drinking.

Yes.. Honestly it's getting a little annoying to see all the tailgaters not going inside and all of the people blocking everyone's view arriving 15-20 minutes late.

There are many reasons to leave at different times. My inlaws left halfway in the 4th because they have 4 kids under 8 and had to drive over an hour home. Others I know didn't want to watch us lose again and saw the writing on the wall (we were lucky to be in the position where only a total meltdown lost the game....which happened....because we had no momentum and Temple was gashing us for 2.5 quarters).

These folks have given 10s of thousands of dollars to the program, gone to road games, gone to bowl games, etc. so STFU with your nonsense.

Agreed, they need to speed up the games. That 3rd quarter dragged for so long with TV timeouts. We kept commenting on how much time there was between action. Come on ESPN...let them play....

Saw the writing on the wall??? Really?? The other excuses are legit, but that's just lame

Who cares if people leave early, at least they showed up. I would rather have people in seats for part of the game rather than none at all.

On the flip side, we bring our 4 month year old to the games and we stay till the clock hits 0:00. No excuses people!

Were you watching the game? We were hanging on by our fingernails. They didn't even have to pass. Ran it down our throats for 40 minutes The only thing stopping Temple was Temple for the most part (other than a few plays here and there...Rucker had a great TFL to force a FG). I was shocked we stopped the drive with a few minutes left. Our guys were gassed. I wasn't crazy about the really weak run calls on our last drive (didn't want pass b/c of %s but MM should have pulled and run...he should have throughout the 2nd half but was obviously injured physically or mentally). No way we should lose a game with 70 yds for a TD and 30-40 seconds. But tell that to ECU and Temple by us.....MSU over WI, and Auburn's late heroics to name a few. It happens. We got burned. Sucks.

I'm not down on the team. They are young. MM needed to learn some of these mistakes himself in live action. Most QBs do...including Blake. You just hope you can get away with it and get the W. We didn't. Oh well. It is a much better product to watch W or L than what we had. I still hate losing but at least I am entertained.

So.. are you saying no excuses or who cares??

The world may never know!

Of-course I would love for everyone to stay until the end of the game, but that is unrealistic. Sometimes I am happy when people leave early though. Makes life easier trying to get off campus. :D ~~~ Conflicted.

Come on dude! Was I watching the game?? Obviously.. , you never have to after the 1st half because you can predict outcomes with 100% certainty.
You should go to Vegas or play the lottery weekly

We get one first down at the end or stop one play in the last 31 seconds and it's over. Writing on the wall??

So.., there's never been a team with momentum that fell short because of 1 or 2 last plays by the team that was ahead. Those people that left knew that Wright was going to miss a field goal?

The people who are the same clairvoyants that could see this loss coming at halftime or shortly after, must have actually stayed for the whole game at Temple in 2013 (Temple had all the momentum) ECU in 2014 (ECU had all the momentum), Louisville in 2013 (Louisville had all the momentum), Home against USF in 2013, etc., etc., etc.

Basically, what I'm saying is that anyone who left early and the only reason is that they saw the " writing on the wall" in a game that we are up by 18, 11, then 5 with practically no time left is a loser. That's a loser mentality and attitude

I have actually learned from our own past games and waited until the last second, because Killins doesn't care about momentum thank God. This time we lost

Did you not read beyond the 1st sentence of my post? I basically agree with what you just posted but you are writing it like you are slamming me. R E L A X.

I said nothing about ppl leaving at halftime.

No, you don't know in the first half for sure...but you can see the signs....not is this game though....the signs were near the end of the 3rd and start of the 4th. D was looking gassed. O wasn't doing anything sustained (a few long passes helped us). They were in the midst of 20+ minutes of running all over us. Does that guarantee a L...no....but it is the trend with UCF lately. I hope Frost will turn it around and I expect him to do so. I expect it to be like with Blake when I thought we had the ability to come back.

Your game list makes no sense wrt fans leaving early. Those were mainly road games. For the home game for USF...I stayed as I had hope even though we played like trash most of the game. I was pretty sure we were losing to Temple after their FG drive that cut it to 8 pts but hadn't seen our O take the field. They didn't do anything to change that perception.

As far as picks, I play in many pick-ems and am consistently above .500 and typically finish in the top few. I don't think I would pick the same way if I had money on the line and/or I haven't though about what bankroll I would need to roll through the bad weeks and keep going. Does that mean I'm 100%...no...but good thing the world does not work in absolutes.

I'm not slamming anyone. Not sure why fans seeing the writing on the wall by this team again and again applies differently to home UCF fans vs away UCF fans.

This was such a rare event, that we have rarely or never seen this before and most likely will rarely or never see it again. Team goes 70 yards in 31 seconds. I'll bet against that every time. Momentum or not.

Settle down there brother - most of us in here have donated, traveled all over. No need to tell people to shut the F up. We're allowed an opinion too.

Half the people who were in the stadium in the first quarter left before a close game was decided. It's a legitimate issue. Yes, some people have good reasons to leave, but half the crowd during a close game?? That shouldn't happen. It can't happen if you want to have home field advantage and be a serious program. If you have a child or a job to get to I get it, life happens. But I know from talking with some of the very people in my section who left - some left at the half because they thought it was a sure win and wanted to simply beat traffic and others just wanted to get to a bar and stop losing their drinking buzz. That's not good support and doesn't help the home field advantage, IMO.

Masturbatorgator won't be happy until he sees Stetson, Furman and Phoenix University passing UCF. If BHN burned to the ground he'd be happy to see it go.

That said, this is where they expand the student section to seat 25k to 30k.

Lets improve the seating and make the stadium a nice place to watch a game. I'd like to say a canopy placed on top of the cabana with ac units and other cooling devices.

All of this talk of expanding to 60k needs to be shelved for now. If it were meant to be, we'd have enough money to overhaul and replace/expand.
