In no order and off the top of my head:

Tomorrowland
The Martian
Star Wars
Inside Out

I haven't seen any movies yet this year, but my favorite movies of 2015 are

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron
The Martian
Star Wars The ForceAwakens
Spectre

I had great expectations for The Martian, but was disappointed. I really enjoyed Sicario. All-in-all, 2015 was a letdown as far as films go. Way too many low-brow comic book rehashes and sequels.

I haven't seen a new movie since The Avengers came out however many years ago that was. I just watch all the Kathryn Heigl movies that have taken over TBS, TNT, USA, FX etc.

Same. Went in expecting to be blown away and ended with a "well, pretty good". What ruined it was Jeff Daniels playing his hyper-annoying Newsroom character for this movie too. He's great as a moron alongside Jim Carey, he's annoying as f*ck when playing an arrogant shithead.

For me, one of the most interesting movies was Ex Machina.

Sicario
Kingsman: Secret Service ('14 or '15? Can't remember)
MI: Rogue Nation

Honorable Mention: Mad Max (Guitar Player, One of my favorite characters of all-time!)

That's the movie that stuck in my head the longest after watching it.

Haven't seen Sicario, yet. It's out on video soon, so I'll be renting it quickly. I thought Mad Max was okay, but I couldn't get sucked into it. Although the electric guitar powered barge things was badass!!

The Revenant...WOW!!!

Is that a real WOW or sarcasm?

I've heard that it's either the most awesome, bizarre, gripping movie they've seen, or that it's an artsy waste of time.

I love western movies so I'm hoping it's good.

It's WOW as in I told my wife after seeing it that it has given me renewed hope w/r/t movies. I was ready to throw in the towel on the film industry, but this movie was phenomenal. My only criticism is that some of the dialogue was hard to follow in a couple of spots. Leo deserves some recognition of course, but I thought Tom Hardy's performance ranks up there with some of the best I've seen in a movie. Highly, highly recommended (although, I never rely on the recommendations/reviews of others).

Just saw The Revenant yesterday. I thought it was good and well acted. It did get a little artsy at times to its detriment. Agree about the dialogue, hard to follow sometimes. The bear attack was freaking great in its realism.

I read how the director chose to use natural light only and it definitely makes a difference in a good way. The scenery is beautiful.

Not as good as Hateful 8, imo, but definitely a worthwhile movie to see.

I hate to be that guy, but... You fly a lot. Get the Martian on audiobook, it's pretty short, like 15 hours. 1000x better than the movie. The movie was good because I read the book. There was too much glossed over or completely skipped that it made the movie seemed rushed to me.

I don't read much fiction, but I also fly a lot and may just take you up on your suggestion. The movie was too "Hollywood" for me (all seemed to go just right), but perhaps the additional narrative and my imagination will solve that.

The book was a good read but at some times slightly tedious because the author was going through the math and a lot of thought process the character was going through. I understand why he did it though and it ultimately added to the story. Not everything went right in the book, that's for sure.

I enjoy reading A Brief History of Time, and books of the like, so it sounds like I may enjoy the math/thought process aspect. I may give it a shot.

The book is really well done and the reader of the audiobook does a great job. The author walks through the physics/chemistry of his decisions, in a non-boring way, which is an incredible feat in and of itself. The real brilliance is that the author leaves tiny believable oversights in, that later lead to consequences that drive the plot. Like others said, the book is better than the movie, but reading the book also makes the movie much more enjoyable.

The Revenant was OK. Seemed like a submission for a cinematography contest over an actual movie to me.
