In all honesty, I think they are probably tired of the politicians and US Media, let alone Pharma. I don't blame them. Same with Dr. Fauci.

As demonized as Dr. Fauci is by both the left and now right, he's really got a thankless job where people expect perfection. Other than Gain-of-Function (GoF), and 'doubling down' on it, I haven't had a problem with it.

Many of Dr. Facui's actual statements, often mal-formed and mis-interpreted by the media, have always been close. He's also been quick to admit his errors -- other than not taking responsibility for his clear GoF bias.
