Fire Heupel Petition

YAWN!
Back to the " also playing this weekend"!
Notre Dame

Here's where we nitpick a win, which is unfair given how many other preseason contenders have already suffered one, two or even three losses. But the Fighting Irish were uninspiring in a 12-7 win against Louisville, which had allowed 38.7 points per game and 6.8 yards per play in losing three straight in ACC play. While able to dominate the clock, run the ball effectively and avoid any crucial turnovers, Notre Dame's overall listlessness doesn't breed confidence in how the Irish will fare against Clemson next month.

Hahahahaha. Should be a good game

How'd you do today? Good thing it wasn't Tulsa!

Your team is overrated and mediocre. Come back and troll lone wolf when you actually win something of relevance.

Maybe you should be BGI Loser 196. How come none of your buddies troll here??! They have self respect??? It’s Saturday night. Get a life dude

Dumbest thing a troll could do is tell us his team. They will get curb stomped eventually and he will look foolish. Just like the last time they didn’t belong in the CFP

We may have won if we went for those other field goals instead of going for it on 4th down. Then again our kicker may have missed those too.
Absolutely! Maybe wish we had some of the points after instead of always going for 2

We made 2 of 3 2PCs. Made 3 of 4 EPs and missed a FG. He’s a career 66% FG kicker with a long of 33. That’s 16 being the Line of scrimmage.
So on the 2s we scored 4 points and max get 3 with kicks. +1 on those. On kicks we got 3 with a max of 4. -1 on those. If we went for 2 on the 4 kicks we make 2 and that’s +1 over actually scored. Make 3 of 4 and that’s+3 over actual. I’d go for 2 every time if I were Heupel.

Not me. In a game like this take points when you can get them.

The offense was on fire this game. Scored 49 points and it's clear we have young WRs and OLmen who can do the job in the coming years. I believe we've seen some great play from our young RBs too.

This game was lost by the defense. Young guys in the secondary got beat all day. Even Aaron Robinson was having to settle for penalties in order to defend that Memphis WR. On the Dline there is clear athleticism but there wasn't much pressure on White.

I've been critical of Heups playcalling and leadership but he had our offense humming today AND he corrected all the presnap and post whistle penalties from the last two weeks. So Heup is definitely fine by me after this one. As for the defense, theres little the coaches can do to mature our players faster than biology allows. Unfortunately, I think CJH and CRS are doing their best and this is the best the team can do right now so I'm sticking with them both.
Thank you. I agree totally. Yes, we have some significant issues on the field that need to be cleaned up. But we have a lot that looks good out there too. There are not very many coaches that could do much better with several freshman DB's thrown into the fire prematurely as a result of Covid.

Memphis is not a defensive powerhouse.
Very true, we agree on this, but in the context of this situation what conclusion does this lead us to? For me...

If:
-Offense scores 49 points.
-Defense gives up 50 points.

Then Defense needs to do a little better. 49 points is enough to win any game so expecting Offense to score more is an odd expectation.

His long is 33 yards. He misses 1 out of every 3. If our defense could stop people he’d get more chances. But we can’t settle for 3 when they score 7 in return. We need 8.

“We”. “Deserve”. To be “undefeated.” Because. Just cuz. We. Deserve it. Paid a semester of tuition. We are owed undefeated seasons.

Hijack the narrative much?
You’re the only one saying “we” “deserve” an “undefeated” season. “We” expect a team that plays with discipline from a coach getting “paid” millions of dollars.

In double overtime.
Count how many total plays each had. OT is literally 3 minutes each offense at the most. Probably closer to 1 minute each in that game. He sucked no matter how you slice it. Got bailed out by big plays and ST and obviously offense.

I think that's the first time I've seen a UCF defense that I simply KNEW they would give up a touchdown every time the opposition had the ball. It wasn't a matter of if, but when and how. Maybe in 2015 it was similar. Simply the worst defensive performance I have ever seen. Shannon has a lot of explaining to do.

2017 vs Memphis. Gave up 48 at end of regulation. Matt Wright was 2-2 on FGs and 8-8 on EP. very similar defensively. Just had a better kicker then.

Obarski is 19/20 on the year with field goals. 9/10 times he hits it and we win, we just got the bad luck of the draw this time.. Additionally, one more defensive stop in the 4th quarter wins it for us.

Unmotivated, undisciplined play. Thia coach needs to go.

The penalties are horrendous and not getting any better. That is coaching. We can't win consistently with so many penalties yet alone a Conference Championship. Pass defense was horrible but there are young guys out there so there is a learning curve for some of them. No sense of urgency when mistakes are made and no one seems accountable. We also have many injured players at key positions which has to be accounted for. The only thing left to play for this season is improvement at everything.

Well the false start penalties were certainly better than other games.

This was in USA Today.
"the mystique of UCF is now over, and the questions will begin about whether Josh Heupel is capable of sustaining what Scott Frost handed over to him. After a 12-0 regular season and Fiesta Bowl bid in Heupel’s first year, the decline has been gradual but noticeable."

19-20 on PATs. 4-6 on FGs. Longest being 33 yards. Also our defense is 55th out of 77 teams. Can’t afford 3 points when we can have same odds of getting 8.

I looked up our TOP. It’s 28:38. So our defense is only out on field 29:20. Take into account punts, kicks and other teams stalling, our defense gets more of a rest than our opponent. We are first in passing yards per game. By 100 yards per game. 4th in TDS by passing. We run way more plays than most teams. Best TOP is 34 minutes. We’re at 28. Really not a big difference when our defense is waiting for other team to snap ball.
