I’m thinking they did this because they knew it would be controversial and get coverage and attention.
that is the wrong kind of coverage you want to get in that industry, and that has nothing to do with politics.
That, or they'll be receiving the cyber security contract from the Clinton Foundation for all networks being run at the new Hilton Grand Resort Haiti.
It's been extremely negative so far, exceedingly so.
The argument was that Hillary was going to talk about 'supporting operations' and other things, and everyone has been pointing out how bad she's compromised everything -- from both US operators and foreign agents to forcing State to disable their own TrendMicro Security for 6 months. She literally was a total liability while at State, something that is established fact outside of the US media among the SMEs.
So both the government IA and private InfoSec communities have been roasting FireEye over this, and rightly so. The US media might have 're-wrote the history,' and the FBI prevented by the DoJ from investigating, but the public IA/InfoSec communities have their own records and investigations on all the 'damage' done.
Even Comey is not kind to her in his comments, even today. We're talking the woman with lawyers who literally ensured State was compromised, beyond herself, on so many levels.
