Flynn to plead guilty to lying to the FBI.

He lied to Pence as well, nothing new. The funny thing about this is he lied about something completely inconsequential. He was doing his job during the transition and spoke with the Russian ambassador among dozens of other foreign dignitaries. I'm curious what he gave up to get his possible jail sentence down from 60 years to 6-12 months.
Libby was convicted of lying as well ... but not about Plame's name.
He was convicted of lying about knowing Armitage leaked Plame's name. Yes, Libby didn't leak her name, Armitage did, "Oh, you know about her too?" as he was guilty of confirming to a reporter. The same reporter the Democratic-led Congressional panel threw in jail confirmed this as well, once Armitage came forward. Armitage came forward after Libby was charged.
This was after 3 years investigating, lots of money for lawyers, throwing a reporter in jail and other things. That's 2 reporters the Democrats have thrown in jail in less than a decade, 0 for Republicans (despite Rachel Maddow lying to the contrary).
This whole episode made the Democratic-led Congressional panel look like fools for being so focused on Libby. It was also the justification W. used for pardoning Libby, since everyone involved agreed -- even though most Americans to this day still think Libby leaked Plame's name -- that Libby never leaked her name. He just wouldn't give up Armitage, just like the reporter refused to.
So ... excuse me if this "lying to the FBI" charge doesn't go very far with me.
And especially after Hillary Clinton got her "get out of jail free" card because her lawyers were able to negotiate the terms of her "cooperation," so the FBI didn't formally 'interrogate' her under oath like they did Flynn, Petraeus and others.
This is what burns us Libertarians up ... although I'll have to side with the Republicans over the Democrats here. The Republicans aren't throwing reporters in jail, and the Democrats are really getting inconsequential results.
But the the US media will do their dance and make it worse than it is ... just like with Libby, and why most Americans believe Libby leaked Plame's name. Just like most Americans still think Jewel planted the explosives at the 1996 Olympics too.
In fact, one has to go back to the '90s where the Republicans spent a lot of time and money for little results -- Bill Clinton was only found guilty of lying that he slept with a subordinate, and back then, politicians could do that, with a taxpayer provided slush fund for paying off subordinates too (but not any more).

Frankly, if I was Libby, I would have done the same.
I don't care for Libby, but a supermajority of Americans believes he did something that he clearly did not.
They've never heard of Armitage.

I'm sure Flynn did lie about the Russians. That was wrong. But it's not Flynn colluding with the Russians to change votes. The Russians never changed votes, they just targeted groups of people. They always mess with elections by undermining the populace's confidence. Nothing is new in that regard ... it's well documented ... has been for over a decade.
SIDE NOTE: I personally started following this via Czech intelligence immediately after the Georgian war, and how the Russians used it to great effect outside of Georgia itself.

May be a big deal, may be nothing. The FBI already said Flynn did nothing wrong in his call with ambassador. It would have been part of flynns job to talk to foreign officials after the election so Trump could hit ground running. If it was before election to undermine election, that is different.
Yep, it's really pre v. post-election. The President-Elect and administration has some restrictions before January 20th, but definitely far less than before election day.

Still doesn't remove the fact that he didn't leak Plame's name. Armitage leaked Plame's name.
I mean, if we want to play this game, what do you think of the "ethics" (not legality, but "ethics") of various, Clinton business practices? That's why when Democrats start throwing stones at Trump's business history, it's quite a glass house they stand in.
Now if you want to talk about -- let alone vote for -- someone with integrity, check out the business history and leadership of Gary Johnson. That's why we Libertarians think all of you lefties and righties are stupidly voting for crooks. Same deal with a few Libertarians too, which is why we supported Johnson, even though he wasn't a 'pure Libertarian.'
Flynn is completely dirty. It wouldn’t surprise me if he “invents” dirt to give to Mueller for a reduced sentence
