I wouldn't say the overall schedule is terrible, I would say the home schedule is terrible. We are stuck with playing UConn, and Houston and ECU/USF will be a decent draw, but other than that, it's a steaming pile.

Overall, we still have Stanford and USCe out of conference and get to play Cincy (finally).

Considering our situation, I really LIKE this schedule.

I can see us going 11-2 and getting back into the national conversation.

To me, that is what where we need to stay and our home schedule
has every tough conference game except for CINN.

Work hard Knights!

Not saying the schedule itself is crappy, but for me, who has to fly into orlando, the schedule sucks. Only one back to back and it's for Thanksgiving. And no OOC home games people would want to go to. I'll probably go to Temple since it's only like 3 hours from here.

Meh.

YES, WE GOT FURMAN!!!!!*

LOL..

I think this schedule is pretty good. If we knock of Stanford and South Carolina, then go off and win the conference then we could be in the conversation. but, gotta win of course.

Is it football season yet?

Meanwhile, usif plays @ Maryland AND @ Navy this season. Why can't UCF have that schedule? Ugh.

1) UCF has a future non-conf game at Maryland (and a home game too)

2) USF at Navy is a game scheduled by the AAC for one of USF's AAC West opponents (UCF will be playing Navy in 2017-2018)

Meanwhile...you rip on great UCF non-conf games at STANFORD (first ever game in California for UCF) and a rematch at SOUTH CAROLINA?

UCF got a nice home AAC schedule with:

UCONN (rematch for you know what)
HOUSTON: Best conf games from CUSA and now AAC have been with Houston...last 2 coming down to final play(s)
ECU: Great Rematch of HAIL PERRIMAN
USF: BLACK FRIDAY: UCF OWNS BLACK FRIDAY!

Next year, AAC East games will be flopped, so the above will be road games, and home games will be:

CINCINNATI
TULANE
TULSA
TEMPLE

If we dont get more consistent play out of QB position, will be a repeat of last year...Not getting rankedand nowhere near anyone talking about us nationally...even if we only lose 2 games...Stanford and S Carolina, they will say the rest of the schedule sucked and we dont get a New Years day Bowl.

Dude, I don't live in Orlando anymore. The schedule sucks FOR ME. I live in Virginia and UCF playing at Navy and at Maryland would be awesome for me. I'm focusing on me for my obersvation that the schedule sucks. With this schedule, IF I can take off on Thanksgiving, I'll be able to make the purple pirates and the cows games. That's it. Other than that, flying in for one single game is just not monetarily justifiable.

Oh and, newsflash, I DON'T GIVE A FUKC ABOUT WHO UCF PLAYS OUT OF CONFERENCE!!!! I want to see my Knights play, not the opponent. But I also understand economics and the school wanting to sell tickets. And I want to see a packed Brighthouse. If you think that will happen with Furman and FIU, then you're even more delusional than what we all think.

Interesting that UCF plays 10 consecutive Saturday games without a bye week. I guess there won't be as many nationally televised ESPN or ESPN2 games on weeknights going forward.

The team would have to know how to play for 60 minutes. GOL doesn't do that.

What's with the lack of bye weeks?
This schedule is more like the one's we used to have. The first weekend of games is the last weekend in August (Ireland game last year was August 30th). O'Leary normally likes not scheduling a game that first week to use it as a bye and have an extra practice week before the season starts.

If you think we are going 11-2 I gotta get what you are smoking.

All new WR core and lose our secondary and you think we're going 11-2? Out of your damn mind son, 9-3 at BEST.

FIU W
Furman W
USCe L
Stanford L
Cincy L
Tulane W
ECU W just cause we're home
USF W
Houston W
UConn W
Temple W
Tulsa W

two reasons:

1 - the CFB season is one week shorter this year than the last two years because of the late Labor Day
2 - the AAC is now conducting a CCG, which takes place in that last week of the season (Army/Navy excluded)

Interesting, wonder what effect it will have if any. Last year seemed so filled with off weeks and this year it will be rapid fire. Great for us fans, hope the players handle it well.

George O'Leary not 'real happy' about 2015 UCF football schedule
Holy flip flop GOL! He's been saying forever that CFB is for Saturdays, now he has it and he's complaining. I understand his point, but have some pride and stand by your words.

Good news. Traditional tailgating almost every week.

Bad news. 3 best roadtrips. (Stanford, South Carolina and Tulane (New Orleans ) are all 3 weeks apart. Wanted to attend all 3. That will be tough.

If we knock off Stanford of USC, this could be a special season and some will take notice. If we lose both games, all the critics will be like "Big deal" if we win all the other games or almost all. Have to beat the big boys at least once a year. Winning on the road is all that more impressive.

Don't knock Furman, they have beat us before.
They are sandwiched between the Stanford and South Carolina games. I think this is what some of the college football analysts would call a "trap game."

I would not be surprised if one or more of those 10 games gets moved to a weeknight.

UCF fans...

2014 - All the weekday games are awful! Tailgating is ruined! People who have to work and have kids can't go to weekday games!

2015 - All the Saturday games are awful! We're gonna be stuck on ESPNNews! The two time defending champ deserves all the weekday primetime slots!

I'm sure i'm going to get some flack for this, but GOL is right!! Part of the reason our recruiting class was as good as it was is a combination of both the Fiesta Bowl and our increased TV exposure.

Playing those Thurs. and Fri. games when you are possibly the only game on is huge. Seriously, we were on ESPN 5-6 times last season and we weren't competing against any other college games.

I could careless if some fans can't get to a Thursday or Friday game if it means we are on ESPN in prime time.

Not having those games hurts our perception, and yes we will be subjugated to ESPNNews, the channel nobody watches if we stay on Saturday. Prepare for a lot of noon games folks.

Damn, there goes my trip to Cini. No way I get away from the family on Halloween.

I was one that loved the Friday night games. Saturday noon games are the worst in Sept and Oct.

Hey, I was there in November of 1984 when Furman beat the crap out of us. I have a long time score to settle with them. Also know that they are not the easiest of FBS teams.

Not by a long shot. It's a bummer we schedule even a half-decent FCS team because it puts you at risk of losing a truly embarassing game but gives you no benefit if you rout them like you should.
