Former QB press conference

Why would he be likely playing his last game? He was sub par and a glass house. I can’t see how NFL is an option, he’s def coming back for another year.
Agreed, but I don't think it will be at OU

Btw, watching that press conference, gave me same lame boring vibes as he always did. Thought he’d refine himself and have more of a personality after another year but nah, he still lame, boring and sucks in press conferences. The way he ends every sentence in “So….” was always irritating. Loved him as a football qb for us but his personality is a zero.

Notice he also tried to walk out b/c too many UCF questions, came back for one more then walked off like a dickhead. It seems like he really is a shitty person.

I’ll be at the game in some sweet seats for this one too with some FSU folks. Even though I should, I won’t “Boo”, but I will find some joy if he throws a few picks and takes some terrible sacks.

I was very Pro DG while he was here but he does come off really entitled. A very difficult QB to evaluate..amazing deep ball accuracy but leadership and being thrown off his spot in the pocket he turns very average

maybe he got a draft grade? there were rumors he wanted to declare last year before he got hurt

I guess Norman had a smaller sock market than expected.
That lol, and just by watching him here, it looks like he got the full treatment from a major program's fanbase. He looks worn. Like PK said, nothing really doing beyond a tremendous deep ball. Can make those throws down the field that leave you impressed by their perfect timing and placement, but then falters under pressure and shows zero charisma and leadership. Never beat Cincy, Memphis, or Tulsa. Keene, who never played a full season, has wins over two of them.

Not trying
He doesn't look good
Not trying to be a dick here but yeah he looks out of shape. His face is noticeably fatter.

And yes, still a generic/boring personality. I know...nothing to do with football, but I do prefer Keene's positive/optimistic vibe, and JRP's confidence speaking. Sockboy is just so so so boring/generic NPC-type.

The grass is always greener on the other side syndrome. He's young and I hope he has other dreams other than playing in the NFL. He shouldn't throw away his college eligibility. Passing QBs are 6'5" these days in NFL.

Gabriel took a chance on UCF with other big-time offers. I think we should all be grateful for that. Although he thought that the system didn’t fit n he left is anybody’s prerogative and we do not sit in his shoes and he thought he was doing the best for himself. It may turn out that way it may not but he did come to UCF over other options and he performed pretty good in his time. I think we should all be grateful for that.

Let me see, he was going to play football for Army who doesn't pass before listening to his friend KZ. He maxed out his ability at UCF but listened to wrong voices after KZ left.

I understand it takes time though because I had to learn to stop complaining and listening to those who were complaining all the time at work.

Futures gone in a flash...

If he didn't want to play here so be it. However Milton did Gabriel a favor by leaving us for FSU to avoid qb controversy and then Gabriel throws that sacrifice away. I don't think we are any worst off without him and probably better.

I’m not saying that we’re better off or not better off. I was a huge fan of Milton and his leadership qualities. I don’t think that Gabriel had leadership qualities that Milton had which became a problem. I don’t think there’s any doubt that Gabriel had the intention of staying at UCF but started looking after his injury n the style of offense that UCF implemented. Obviously he didn’t feel comfortable in that style of offense. It’s all good that he left, because you certainly didn’t want a locker room cancer which it could’ve become, had he stayed

Milton did do a big one ups for Gabriel when he left to go to FSU.

I just don’t think we should not be putting the kid down in anyway for making a personal decision. He was an extremely talented QB who initially chose UCF and just changed courses. UCF moved on and is looking at greater things and Gabriel got what he wanted.

Charge on

we are beating a dead horse but it wasn’t just the decision. He took slight digs at both Heupel and Gus, scrapping his social media of everything UCF minutes after Gus is announced as our head coach like an immature brat, and refusing to play after being cleared medically. This along w a lot of other rumored stuff behind the scenes

Fans are getting used to this new transfer portal normal but there is a reason other players leaving didn’t have the same reaction from fans

Milton staying at UCF would have caused more problems for himself and the program. He would not have played at the same effectiveness prior to the injury.

As for Gabriel, he got trashed for his performance against Louisville. Despite accounting for 5 tds, 76% passing and got injured trying to win involving a poor designed play for the strengths of the team. There is just exaggeration of how much of a negative he was. While Keene's UF Bowl performance is considered a pinnacle moment.

He absolutely has his flaws, but fans will make him sound like he was worse than he is and everyone hates him in the program. Which still makes you wonder why they voted him as a team captain.

Hate is a strong word for a kid just trying to take advantage of his immediate value to better himself. He probably is aware that someone his size does not have a great chance to play in the NFL unless he really overachieves. He probably thought he would make more in NIL deals with Oklahoma too. However I don't like the way he handled himself with the transfer. He should have been more diplomatic. Anyway it's not a big deal imo.

Oh, I agree how the transfer was done was poor. However, no way it didn't have influence by the coaching staff. Majority say they were aware he was leaving, but also say he used the program. Can't have both ways, no way Gus didn't talked to him back in October.

I just don't think he was disliked as much as speculated prior to the injury. After that, game on just like any other portal player. However, it's always based on allegiance. If Stroud refused to play in the playoffs and transfered to UCF people would cheer him like a hero.

At least he beat his yardage and receptions from his 1 year at Oklahoma in 2018*

I think people are not understanding why there is hate with him…no one is saying he isn’t a talent or isn’t entitled to transfer and “better” himself (or at least perceived to better himself). It’s the way he did it, peddling socks among other crap up to the day he transferred. Him being so disconnected on the sidelines (not a leader) all year after his injury, jerking around on the sidelines with Kaeden Robinson who also knew he was transferring. Not being able to win any of the big games was also a big knock.
