In a somewhat shocking move...believe 740 AM will have their afternoon show broadcast from Cheyenne Saloon to help promote the UCF event from 3 pm - 6 pm. (Outside the normal "media day" for Baseball, can't recall the last radio show that broadcasted prior to a UCF Basketball or Comas & Kyle Show from UCF Alumni HQ on football game days).

That's a very cool venue to check out.

Trying to recall the last time I was in Cheyenne Saloon....whenever it was...we usually could be found on outside balcony overlooking Church Street.

Good times...good times.

Looking forward to tonight.

Reactions: UCFhonors
The Orlando Sentinel has the wrong address on the front page of today's sports section. That same Copeland Drive address comes up in a Google map search for Cheyenne Saloon.

Epic Fail coverage by 740am for this event. So, driving home from work later than usual and flick on the radio and kinda excited about UCF coverage on it. It was from 6:40 to 7:05 I listened to it. They talked about everything but UCF football. That shot doctor guy covered everything from the NFL, to the NBA, to the NHL, to the Orlando Soccer in that span. I could hear the crowd noise so I could tell they were at a live event. But, not one UCF mention. The only thing I got was I heard cheering and shot doctor says Marc Daniels is speaking. But, no audio of that and he goes into who he thinks will win the NBA championship. He then goes off the air at 7pm and thanks UCF for hosting them. Not a peep otherwise. Then they go into some syndicated show from tennessee. EPIC FAIL!

Shot Doctor is a USF grad. So essentially a complete idiot.

I'm not trying to defend 740 AM's actions, but I doubt Shot Doctor being a USF grad has anything to do with the poor coverage. Having listened to many of his broadcasts, I've never gotten the feeling that Shot Doctor gives a crap about USF athletics. He likes talking about pro teams from New York, particularly the Yankees, Giants, and Jets.

Shot Doctor is pretty harmless. He's been around awhile and has always been kind of an amusing goofball and not to be taken to seriously as a reporter. Probably should stay away from any important events as a main host. He's more of an amusing sidekick to be mocked and ridiculed.

Well, I was expecting UCF coverage. They advertised earlier in the morning that 740am was covering the event. Did UCF pay him to be there. If they did, they got ripped off.

UCF just put out a vid on ucfathletics site. It looked crowded!

Marc Daniels on this morning's radio show talked about it some. Talked a lot about possible Big 12 expansion.

So I hear we are going to the Big 12 :okay:

I see you have posted on the CSNBBS regarding the P5 inclusion discussion initiated by O'Leary and Stansbury last night. Can't believe there hasn't been a peep over here except for your post.

You beat me to the post. It was one of the better events UCF Athletics has thrown and they were surprised by the turnout. And that's what caused our A.D. to give his impromptu talk. Sure wish I had heard Daniels take this morning. Did he sound positive about the possibility?

Marc sounded cautiously optimistic on big 12 expansion. Admitted he doesn't know much other than speculation. I only listened to his Bianchi bridge part around 9am.

So did anybody go? What did you think?

It was GREAT!

Many calling it the best UCF Event (and location) in a long, long time.

Cheyenne Saloon brought back memories by many alumni that use to go there during its heyday...while young alums thought it was a very cool join being their first visit.

Free event...open bar (beer and liquor), free food/dessert, etc...great time had by all.

Hope UCF has an annual event there...

Here's the UCFKnights.com article with video and photos of the event.

Thanks for the info guys. I love 740am. Big Marc Daniels and Bianchi fan. Can't hear them too much due to a new job but they're good ppl. So is the Shot Dr. Happy to hear the event was cool, ill take a look at the video.

The Big12 stuff is news to me though...what was that about?

The video on the UCF Athletics website does not reference the comments that is leading to the B12 speculation. In addition to the WVU Athletic director admitting that the B12 does have people looking at the POSSIBILITY of expansion, two comments from UCF's Hometown Huddle event have resulted in wild speculation in the Dungeon about the possibility that it might be closer than people suspect.

GOL started off by saying "UCF will be Power 5."

Later, Stansbury said something along the lines of..."Because of Twitter I have to be careful how I say this. The dreams of UCF & what you want...we are talking about a sprint, not a marathon."

Thanks for the info. Wow, coming from GOL...

It's great to hear the expansion talk being stirred up again even if nothing happens right now. It's better to have some hope rather than give up.

I wouldn't care if we went 0-12 in the Big 12 which we wouldn't. We must get out of this crappy conference ASAP. We then just may be set forever. It would be one of the greatest days in UCF history overall. Just keep winning and go to games and watch them on TV.
