5 years at 1.7 million a year. The salary pool for assistants is 2.3 million a year.
How does this compare with years past?

I heard the buyout is $850,000 if he leaves for another school early. Half a year's compensation. Wouldn't be much of a deterrent for a P5 school if they were to want him (which means he probably restored UCF to great heights - win, win).
What do you think is the reason the buyout is so ridiculously low??
Thanks!! I was looklng for this. Syracuse was offering 1.2 million. He only was making about $400,000. Nice little raise. I would have thought an Oregon OC would be making more than that.
Looks like we're spending some money and I'm sure 2.3 million is an upgrade.
Nice to see the university is committed to football. Very smart move!
Buy those tickets to pay for all of this and more!
I would think the negotiation went something like "we're going to offer 1.7 million" and frost said "either the buyout is low or the salary goes up". I think it's a steal at $1.7 mil if Herman really signs his deal at Houston for $3 milWhat do you think is the reason the buyout is so ridiculously low??
That is per year remaining if I am correct. $4.25 million if left today.

My guess? Already hedging he leaves for P5 in 3 years. Probably wouldn't take the job if the buyout was high.
