But DW says no.
"I would love it if we had a track team here. I'm a big track fan, with my mom being a former track athlete and being a head coach at the university-level and then having a track background myself," said Frost, a former 300-meter hurdler.
But DW says no.
"Every team you add, you have staffing, travel, equipment, scholarships, facility needs. It's resources. We have moved up very quickly from a lower level Division I college athletics department, Division II to a pretty high level," UCF athletics director Danny White told the Orlando Sentinel earlier this summer.
"We have 16 sports right now and I can't sit here as I stand here today and tell you they have everything that they need. I'd need to get to that place before I'd feel good about even exploring that. We have some needs right now for the 16 that we have."
But several players and coaches know a track team somewhere in the future could only help UCF's football program grow.
