Was reading how Heup and Frost offenses have much in common which allows Heup to keep some of older (Frost) terminology the same for players and decided to look at the offensive stats for 2017. If you're interested in doing some comparison check out the stats below. Remember that Heup was going through a turnaround year for his group who went 7-6 and competing against the SEC every week. Looks promising for us...TDs, red zone, misc. numbers look good :)

Wasn’t SF also going through a turn around year after 7-6? Or you’re saying we were a year ahead?

Also the SEC east is trash.

What can we learn from this (or elsewhere) about the pass:rush ratio in 2017 vs what we expect to see in 2018?

To me it doesn’t really matter. Even some passes are just long handoffs. If a back can catch it’s the same as a run. I’m sure Cordarian wants to use his size straight up the middle though.

I'm currently working on something looking at last years plays and want to look at Missouri's as well. I'm interested in getting into sports analytics and thought this would be a cool project to do. Will share results when I am finished.

Awesome! Let us know man. My impression is that SF prefers to run more and do more short passes than Heup

I’ve heard Mizzou ran more. Can’t you just look at how many runs and passes total for both and determine a ratio?

Looking at raw stats you can easily, but UCF also won every game, with a lot of blowouts. Mizzou on the other hand were trailing a lot more in the 2h, so the numbers are going to be skewed a little if you just look at raw stats.
