So I had to head to Dallas this weekend... I know...(I would've worn white though). How was the the "game day experience" that DW is trying to sell? How was the new video board? The concert? Any other game differences?

If you're in the north end zone it is painfully loud. Better game experience though. Fireworks was an awesome touch. Crowd was less than I expected. Crowd seemed into it for the most part.

The video board and the sound were nice. I missed the concert. Fireworks added a nice touch. I was very disappointed with the attendance. BHNS holds 44,000 plus. I would guess that we had 36,000-37,000.

There were a number of more subtle touches besides the new jumbotron/sound system (North end zone seats are going to need earplugs cause it sounded loud in section 211) and fireworks. There were many more banners and signs around the stadium, mostly under the stands on the birck, that really made it look cooler. There were food trucks outside the main entrance. The team walked by the crowd at the main entrance (my 5 yo son loved that part, giving high fives to players). The Gin Blossoms played a half an hour or so concert out front of the stadium that was pretty cool too.

Oh yeah, and there were bigger banners held by the cheerleaders when the team ran into the stadium which was lead by the knight on the horse which was awesome to see!

Concert was a little muddy, had a few hundred people rocking out.

During the pregame warmups, as the linemen came out to warmup they entered through a player tunnel of those players already on the field and when the team exited after warmups the whole team walked off, single file in numeric order. I thought that was kind of cool.

The attendance was a little less than I was hoping (watching on ESPN3). However with all the game day changes, and quality product on the field, I'm hoping we get 2 sell-outs this year.

Maryland will probably sell out. Not really any other sexy games unless we are playing well to sell out.

Schedule near perfect -- no long homestands or several successive road games. Students who attended need time to spread the news among a new generation of students who've never attended a college game. Same with locals. It takes time to make this a hot ticket and must see again.

It looked like 40k. I think I saw ESPN say 36k. And I was really impressed by the whiteout.

Taking everything into account that's a excellent showing.

Overall all the new gameday touches are great. It really has big step up feel to game day experience.
